Kenny Roger’s New Honey and 5 More Side-Dishes!

November 15, 2011

While everyone was partying last 11.11.11, I chose to be healthy and attended the Kenny Roger’s Bloggers Night. It was actually the second Blogger’s Night, (read about the first one here – in which the event was graced by Phil Younghusband!) and I love attending their events because the Kenny Roger’s Team always makes us feel special.

But there’s nothing more special than the new offerings from Kenny Roger’s. I’ll get straight to the point. Let’s welcome the new honey in the house – The Honey Roast Chicken.

Disclaimer: Real product doesn’t come with veggies on side. For plating purposes only!

True to its description – it is juicy, perfectly roasted infused with honey and maple. It is served with Kenny’s own honey-garlic sauce. When I tasted it, it reminds me of chicken ham – it is just perfect this Christmas. We all wonder how Kenny Roger’s does it – infusing the flavor to the last meat part of the chicken.. I wonder if the bones would also taste honey-maple-y?!

It can be ordered as a la carte for only Php399 for whole chicken. Perfect for family or group gathering. Or it can be enjoyed with Kenny’s Solo Plates, Healthy Plates, Combo Meals and Group Meals.

Kenny Roger’s is also known for its side dishes, and now we have four new choices – Garlic Parmesan Green Peas, Sour Cream and Chives Potatoes, Turnip Salad and Aglio Olio.

The Garlic Parmesan Green Peas is steamed fresh green beans tossed in garlic butter sauce and sprinkled with grated Parmesan cheese. I love that it is crunchy with that bite of saltiness from Parmesan Cheese.

The Aglio Olio is cooked pasta with olive oil based sauce, garlic bits and chopped olives. I am not really a fan of oil based pastas, but I love that Kenny Roger’s made it as a side dish instead of full dish because it is a good breaker from the yummy chicken meals they offer.

A new addition to the salad selection – Turnip Salad – a light salad made with crunchy turnip strips, carrots, cucumber and red cabbage tossed in sweet and tart mango dressing. I am sure my mom would love this one.

I am saving our favorite for last – the Sour Cream and Chives Marble Potatoes! I sooo sooo love potatoes – cook it whatever way, or whatever shape. Add the yummy sour cream dressing – this is close to heaven! It reminds me of my favorite snack (but this one is healthier). We even recommended bacon bits on top, but Kenny Roger’s stand is – it will no longer be a healthy meal – which is what they are trying to promote.

We found ourselves asking for more of Sour Cream and Chives Marble Potatoes! Yum!

I know you wanted to get a fork and pierce those marbles!

If my post is making you hungry, see this..

.. what I wanted to say is, these new offerings are now available in all Kenny Roger’s stores starting today November 15, 2011!

Of course, meal is not complete without dessert – and a healthy dessert we mean FroYo! My mom and I (and my sister and her family love Kenny Roger’s FroYo!). It is not icy spikey unlike the others. It is smooth in the mouth. Love it!

I love it with brownies!
Whose plate was this? We cannot tell.. We all know we love the new Honey  Roast Chicken!

Thank you again Kenny Roger’s Team for the fun and intimate dinner!

Head to the nearest Kenny Roger’s store. Tell me what you think of a new honey, and your favorite side dish!
