Cheap Finds and Christmas Gifts Suggestions

November 7, 2010

One week before pay day, I found myself buying and shopping for more stuff. I just cannot resist a good buy.  The best thing about shopping is not worrying when is the next pay day. 😉

Here are some of my purchases which could make good Christmas gifts or give-aways.

1. Chic Draw-strings Pouch

Where to Buy: Bought from Tutuban Centermall
Price: Php50 (less than 1 dollar!)

My thoughts when I bought this, SAVE THE WORLD, ELIMINATE PLASTICS.

Eventhough I carry a make-up kit as a lunch bag in the office, I still wrap my Lock-and-Locks with plastics or paper bags. So I decided to buy this chic pouch and eliminate plastic. It is washable too.

Other designs – stripes, abstract, alot of cartoon charaters. But I have to buy something chic. I love this type of print!

Give it to: your coworkers.

2. Chinese Laundry clutch

Where to Buy: I bought this from Ebay
Price: Winning bid is Php300 (I am lucky!)

I loove clutches. I use them when I go to church and attend events. This one is a great buy since I so wanted a clutch of this color.

Give it to: your sister-in-law.

3. Camel Shoulder Bag

Where to Buy: SM Mall of Asia

Price: Php100 (at 50% off)

Shoulder bags and sling bags are soo in nowadays. I saw alot of chain strapped bags being sold in Tutuban and night markets. But what I wanted is a shoulder bag – the ones which Sandy Andolong and Carmi Martin used in the old Tagalog movies.

Anyway, this one went to my shopping bag. I also need a sling bag or a clutch bag of this color to pair with my shoes.

This is good to keep my press powder, lip palette, mirror, keys and cards. The strap is adjustable too!

Give it to: your friend

4. Vintage Long Necklace

Where to Buy: Tiangge
Price: Php100 (compare to multiply sites selling this type at Php350!)

Thank you to China for “mass-producing” this type of necklace. I used to bid from for rare vintage necklaces and search through multiply to get a rare piece such as this.

Give it to: your long distance friend

5. Boleros

Where to Buy: Tutuban
Price: 2 for Php150

I got alot of tube dresses and maxi dresses which I cannot just plainly wear without a decent shrug or bolero. I oftentimes hate the types which totally cover the whole ensemble, so when I saw these boleros – I have to buy them (because they are cheap too!). I love this type of boleros – the ones which only covers the back and shoulders.

Give it to: your teenage cousins. 😉

6. Colorful Earrings

Where to Buy: Tiangge
Price: Php80

This is so Forever21-ish! I love it as I can wear it with many different dresses and colors. I meant to buy alot, but I am allergic with fancy earrings, so I just tried and bought one.

Give it to: Fashionista friend

My other great buys this week – Voucher for Underam Laser Treatment (good gift to your sister), and Voucher for Dinner Buffet at Richmond Hotel (perfect gift for your parents).
