Subic International Marathon 2012 Schedule, Registration and Details

December 3, 2011

Who wants to/can run for 42k marathon?! Well, if you are up for the challenge, you need to join the Subic International Marathon 2012. For the newbie runners like me, there is also 3k. But I still need to get a good running shoes before I can join. Or probably considering running barefoot!

The Subic International Marathon is running on its 6th year with CORPS Movement Foundation and Dilaab Movement as the beneficiaries with eXtribe, Inc. as the running event’s co-producer and race organizer.

I was invited to the media launch/presscon last Monday in the historic PAGCOR. What is interesting about the event is that it is not only focused on promoting health and wellness but also change and transformation.

Pastors, and even Armed Forces of the Philippines will run on the said event. Aside from the amazing tie-up and support from Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police, the Subic International Marathon is said to have the most gorgeous route.

See the 42K route below:

What I love most is this cute dog tag that will be given to the 21K first finisher.

They decided to give dog tag instead of medal – at least this is something that everyone can just wear any day – to be proud of the achievement. Something to brag about. I got the point. We don’t see champions wearing their medals on a normal day. Only after the event and awarding for the photoshoot!

For our runners who run barefoot – just like our friend here. There is an assurance that the route is smooth and “runnable” (if there is such a word).

So what to expect?

Runners can expect a safe, clean, and cool run with rest facilities in the race course in every turn-around point for the 5,10, 21 and 42k race; committed hydrating station within every 1.5km; full medical support in case of emergency; RFID Accurate Timing System, and; an uncrowded run with the split-schedule of the races.
