I am still high from the Mama Mia! show I watched two weeks ago, and now here comes another show that is making my heart beat faster – and I mean literally making my heart beat fast!
Cirque Mother Africa (created by professional acrobat Winston Ruddle) will dazzle and mesmerize local audiences with wild African music, dance and performance in a two-hour showcase. This is happening in Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila on April 19 to 22.
The team has staged shows in Germany, Italy, Romania, Russia, Netherlands, Australia, Belgium and Spain and it would be nice to see them live (and we can forget about Youtube).
Dancers, percussionists, singers, acrobats and contortionists energetically take to the stage in a celebration of the culture of the traditional and modern African arts & culture.
The heartbeat of Africa pulsates throughout the jaw-dropping show as the musicians and artistes articulate their passion and love for their homeland including Ethiopia, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Ivory Coast, Benin, Zimbabwe, and Guinea.
The innovative show combines the talents from nine African countries to provide the wonder, suspense and joy of Cirque Mother Africa.
Now, I really want to go to Africa! I am dead serious!
I am so glad to receive this news in my inbox, and what is more fun is being able to participate in this program.

I don’t know about you, but I still prefer listening to old rock songs which became popular in the 90s. I know it defines my age, but for those who are missing the old rock bands, Hijo is the answer to the prayer.
Nathan Azarcon, Ira Cruz and Vic Mercado and Bamboo joined forces with Radioactive Sago Project’s Junji Lerma (guitars) and Wowee Posadas (keyboards) to form Hijo which is a named suggested by Vic, which is like a child.
Hijo released the album “Slow Rock Vol. ½” (such a cute title – reminds me of the band Side A).Slow Rock Vol. ½ contains four tracks like “Tamalee” which is about insatiable greed; “Di Mo Na Kaya”- a song on separation and loss; “Torquemada”- about pain and torture and “Dahil Sa Iyo” which speaks about love. The videos for “Tamalee” and “Di Mo Na Kaya” are currently playing on top music channels in the country.
“Slow Rock Vol. ½” is now out under MCA Music in CDs at leading record bars nationwide or online via mymusicstore.com.ph. To download Hijo’s music on your mobile phones, just text HIJO to 3456.
Have you seen my post regarding the first video campaign by 7 For All Mankind. This new one is a riot! I should consider taking crazy pictures while on a beach! 😉
I know this release is a little too late, but I am hoping you were able to catch the premiere of The Firm – which is coined as the modern legal thriller.
It is an AXN original series based on John Grisham’s bestselling novel, the TV reincarnation picks up ten years after the movie of the same name starring Tom Cruise. Hot shot lawyer, Mitch McDeere, brought down a Memphis law firm fronting the Chicago mob. Mitch and his family attempt to reclaim their lives by moving to Washington DC to start their own firm after leaving the Federal Witness Protection Program. However, the past has a way of catching up with them .
The stellar cast includes Josh Lucas (The Lincoln Lawyer) and Juliette Lewis (Natural Born Killers). Lucas is cast as Mitch McDeere, the role originally made famous by Cruise, with Lewis playing McDeere’s receptionist, Tammy Hemphill (previously played by Holly Hunter in the film). Canadian cast members include Molly Parker (Deadwood) as McDeere’s wife, Abby, and Callum Keith Rennie (Battlestar Galactica) as his brother, Ray, and Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) as Alex Clark, the firm’s managing partner.
I wish I find time to watch this, otherwise, I can always borrow series from my friends.
