Ok.. so I got an invite to watch the Dark Knight Rises care of Ayala Cinemas; but I had to decline because my company (well, not really mine – but the company I work for), is celebrating its Diamond Year. Of course, I chose to celebrate with the Big Blue. Bruce Wayne can understand.
It is good that I have friends from WheninManila community and Cholo was nice enough to cover for me despite short notice. It was actually crazy because he almost missed the movie. My phone was dead and I was not able to get a hold of him and the contact person. Anyway, I am glad he made it, and now, read Cholo Isungga‘s review about the Dark Knight Rises.
After months long of not being swayed to the districts of Greenbelt, I just had to grab the opportunity to see the caped crusader for his hurrah at Christopher Nolan’s epic third installment of his own dark and realistic version of Batman, The Dark Knight Rises.
It was a special screening which was headed by the Ayala Malls Cinemas for The Dark Knight Rises that catered good food and drinks, an hour before the screening itself.

They had a small variety of pastas and pizzas up on line for special screening viewers. They also had NYFD fries and NYFD’s famous dips for free. And my goodness, I was filled to the brim upon entering the cinema, and yet, we still managed to bring food in. It was a very generous dinner/cocktail from Ayala Malls Cinemas for the special screening which is a two thumbs up!
Going into the review of the movie, YES NO SPOILERS! The acting was superb! Every single character portrayed a very captivating role and believable acting. I have never thought that Anne Hathaway could pull-off such a Cat burglar premise to her acting. Honestly, I never saw Anne Hathaway “that” sexy. But The Dark Knight Rises with her Cat burglar/Catwoman character changed all that in a snap! Oh boy, her acting and stunts were commendable.
The movie begins in a paced yet gritty dark manner a couple of years after the prequel, The Dark Knight left-off. And as soon as the plot thickens out, the pacing becomes heart pounding and keeps you gripped at the tip of your seat. Twists and turns in the story keeps you glued to the screen and anticipating the next move. Darn sure that you won’t figure anything out from the twists and turns. That’s how good Christopher Nolan had directed the film. And in all honesty, I actually believe that this one is the best out of the three installments. Hands down, great and captivating to watch. You should not miss this film!
You can miss The Amazing Spider-man, but not this. Not this for sure.
Thank you once again to Ayala Malls Cinemas for our free tickets and for this opportunity. Don’t forget to catch the caped crusader in The Dark Knight Rises in your nearest Ayala Malls Cinema.
Now I need to sure see this film because I don’t want to be left out on Monday’s office talks.
