Healthy Holiday Dish: Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus from Fisher Farms

December 16, 2014

I am counting the parties, holiday dinners and reunion invites that I have received and multiplied it to the amount of fat I would gain after the Holiday Season is over. I just refuse to do the math at how many sit-ups I need to do to bring sexy back.

But more than worrying about losing weight after the holiday, the first question that we ask ourselves whenever there is a party or potluck event – what to bring or what to cook?

This is the most celebrated time of the year when families spend a lot on food and lechon is always present in the dining table. For us, bloggers who always get invited to events, everyday always seems like a feast for us. Marina Benipayo, supermodel knew exactly what I am talking about here.

She and Regine Tolentino were present at the Fisher Farms launch of Rellenong Bangus.

Yes, Fisher Farms Inc., a world-class aquaculture food processor and the largest supplier of farm-raised milkfish in the country, has the answer to our biggest holiday dilemma.

The Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus created by celebrity chef and food expert Reggie Aspiras,  is a healthy alternative to the fatty dishes often served during the Noche Buena.

What Makes  Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus a healthier dish?

The whole bangus is stuffed with a savory filling of fish, sweet potato, bangus belly, shrimp and ther premium and special ingredients that give a holiday twist to this traditional dish.  Unlike the traditional rellenong bangus, this is baked and not fried, which cuts down considerably on the fat content without sacrificing flavor.

My mom actually cooked the big Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus this lunch – not actually cooked but prepared and heated via microwave. I enjoyed its juicy and flavorful filling. The serving is big enough, we still have half to serve for dinner.

Marina Benipayo shared how she once brought this dish in a potluck event and the host was pleasantly surprised with how big the dish is! They thought that it could fit in a normal microwave oven. Indeed, this ready-to-eat Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus can be easily prepared by heating it in the microwave – and voila! You have a gourmet offering for your family and guests. It is brilliant and time-saving.

Regine Tolentino who is always gracious and pleasant shared how they stay fit despite the holidays. They try to eat a lot of healthy food like vegetables and fruits, and also do a lot of exercise to burn the fat.

Aside from Rellenong Bangus, Fisher Farms also offers different products like Fish Nuggets and Fish Hungarian Sausage. I thought they are good alternatives to kids’ snacks and packed meals. Fisher Farms grows its milkfish in the pristine seawaters of Pangasinan in fish cages, resulting to sweeter, more flavorful, firmer and cleaner fish. Only high-protein feeds are given to farmed fish to produce high-quality fish meat.

My mom and I are so delighted to discover these new amazing products. Now, we can have a feast without worrying about fat!

What are your healthy dish alternatives this holiday season?

Fisher Farms’ Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus is available in select supermarkets in Metro Manila and in select provinces around the country.
