Calligaris Showroom: Stylish and Smart Italian Furniture

March 16, 2015

I am building a house design in my mind and my brain cells are picking and rearranging the furniture I want in it. I am a little torn with how I would like my house to look like. Here’s the thing – I appreciate different designs and I thought of bringing them all together – modern, old English, industrial. I thought of having different themes in different rooms so I have a reason to bring and buy the pieces I want.
Lately, I am however, leaning more towards modern and simple designs. I love the inspiration brought to me by Tiny Houses. I love pieces that are both stylish and smart that don”t eat too much space. I found them in the brand new showroom of Calligaris in Bonifacio Global City.

Calligaris turned the showroom into a red afternoon affair with elegance with the launch of the brand’s new home in The Fort. We were able to see and experience the fine pieces. Part of me was wishing I could bring home the pieces and replace the existing ones we have at home.

Alessandro Calligaris, company chairman and member of the family’s third generation joined the event with Florence Ko, Managing Director of Gruppo Mobili Phillippine, Inc, distributor of Calligaris in the Philippines.

We’re very excited with the launch of Calligaris’ new home and showroom at BGC. Calligaris is a global Italian brand known for its stylish modern aesthetics, quality craftmanship, and smart design. Calligaris is perfect for young, upwardly mobile professionals looking to furnish their new condos or houses with designer furniture at reasonable price points.  – Florence Ko.

Calligaris history started in 1923 with the production of Marocca chair characterized by distinctive sturdy wooden frame, hand-woven rush seat and slightly curved legs. The company then started making and innovating furniture – with women taking care of weaving, and woodwork was done manually. Now, Calligaris is known for home furnishings from chairs, tables, beds, sofas, storage units and decorative accessories.

Let me tour you around the showroom and I took a few pictures of the pieces. Enjoy!

Dining Sets

I love how the tables are paired with comfortable chairs. Dining, is afterall a pleasurable and relaxing experience.

Living Room Sets

From sofas, rags, decors and lighting. Calligaris has really nice pieces that are simple yet elegant.

I instantly fell in love with this bedroom! Lime, gray and white. It looks fresh and pleasing to the eyes. Not the usual pink for the ladies. I even had my picture taken here, check out my instagram @ruthilicious!

But when I saw this .. my heart was torn all over again. I always love black and I feel that this bed set looks elegant and sexy. 🙂
Calligaris also launched  new addition to its collection!
Gamera Chair, made from one-piece polyamide shell suitable for indoor or outdoor use, the LAM table, a harmonious amalgam of metal and wood available in fixed length or extending version (I thought my mom would love this for dressmaking!); and the modular URBAN sofa, which offers multiple configurations to fit different needs.
You should also check the CODE collection for extra-ordinary furniture designed by Italy’s young avant-garde artists.
It seems that Calligaris knows exactly how my mind works in designing and arranging furniture in my mind. Imagination and creativity are good, but this interactive design studio is better. Customers can visually design and select the kind of Calligaris furniture they want for their home. Very cute! Just like SIMS!
Thank you Calligaris for having me!
