Marriott Hotel Manila Lights Christmas Tree and Introduces Bid & Built Campaign

November 25, 2011

Christmas is in the air!!! Can you feel it? I smell bibingkas and puto-bumbongs, and see twinkling Christmas lights in major roads and gigantic Christmas trees too! Although we don’t really celebrate Christmas, I love the season because it’s the only time of the year when everyone is happy and (for)giving.

(Disclaimer – before you think that I am not a normal creature, for the record I am a believer of Christ and God, but we just don’t celebrate Christmas).

Last night I attended the Marriott Hotel‘s Christmas Tree Lighting which also kicks off the Bid and Build campaign, a fund raising auction project with Habitat for Humanity.

Celebrities and personalities donated their possessions and talents for this cause. Daphne Osena donated her hand carved, kiln-dried mahogany wood with goldleaf chair. Connie Sison has to give a Kate Middleton engagement replica ring. A personal souvenir for herself during Prince Harry and Kate Middleton’s wedding live coverage for GMA -7. International artist Charice Pempengco’s size 6 Louis Vuitton monogram macassar canvas globe trotter sneaker is also on the list. It features quality leather with a Louis Vuitton signature embossed on the side. Alyanna Martinez, the young and vibrant celebrity-stylist from the famous and talented Martinez clan is donating a pair of 401/2 size stilettos for this project.  Shaira Luna, who was once dubbed as the youngest kid astronomer who’s IQ was for the genius is offering a free pictorial to a lucky bidder. Ruffa Guttierez, Frederick Peralta, Divine Lee and other celebrities donated more than just their items but their passion for giving.

The event was hosted by Phoemela Baranda which looks stunning on her red long. I love her even before she became famous. I only got to see her face in Cosmopolitan until the face has become popular and named.

Gracing the event is Ms. World 2011 First Princess, Gwendolyn Ruais. They had been asking me who’s taller – for the record, I am taller. 😀

It was such a pleasure to meet Shaira Luna! She’s so nice and “fasyon” too! I still remember her famous line – “Sun is in the center of the solar system..”. I know you guys remember! My friend got to work with her and I know she is a good photographer too.

I looove the dance and performance by the Resorts World Manila European Dancers! Makes me want to dance too!

My Dessert Plate – I am cutting down on sugar. But love that Santa face!

After the official Christmas Lighting – (I missed to take the pictures because I was so busy chatting with Shaira ;)), the real Santa Claus (well, an old grandpa in Santa costume) came down and gave away goodies!

Guests, media and personalities asked for goodies! Everyone looks young in Santa’s eyes.
