#HBDMaxs 70 Years of #ChickenLove

October 28, 2015
max's 70th birthday
Last night was all about #chickenlove as Max’s Restaurant celebrates its 70th Birthday.
We were invited to celebrate with Max’s in its very first restaurant in Sct. Tuazon, Quezon City. I have been to many Max’s restaurants where we celebrated life experiences, but it was my first time in Max’s Restaurant Sct. Tuazon.

Thank you for the talikogenic picture twinnie Charlene!
It was a beautiful store with such beautiful set-up. The main event was held in Ruby Hall (named after Ruby – daughter of restaurant’s found Maximo Gimenez).
As expected, we had our endless shoot and #ootd session outside – fashion bloggers or not.

We all know about Max’s “house that is fried chicken built” tagline but the story started in 1945, when Maximo Gimenez would frequently welcome American soldiers into his home for hearty meals, after World War II. It simply showed Filipino hospitality. I could imagine the scene in this very store.
The soldiers enjoyed the meal and soon began insist in paying and convince Maximo to open a cafe. What hooked the soldiers about the chicken is the same signature taste that we all love. Max’s Fried Chicken is different from what they usually serve in the US or what we usually eat in fastfood chains.
After 70 years, we still enjoy the same Max’s Fried Chicken along with other signature Max’s Restaurant dishes – Sinigang, Kare-kare and even dessert like Buko Pandan. And even if there are hundreds new restaurants in the country offering Filipino dishes and fusion, we still go back to Max’s for a taste of nostalgia and home-cooked food.
Max’s served us the best dishes last night and Max’s brought us to the wonderful 70 years of Max’s with the memorabilia displayed in the venue. I saw the old staff’s uniform, pins, and even the first employee ID! This is one of the best things about getting invited to these kinds of events – knowing your favorite brand’s history and stories.
Happy Staff means Happy Customers
Caught this while we were enjoying our drinks 🙂
But of course, bloggers and friends of Max’s were not the only ones who got a treat. Max’s showed us a video of how Max’s surprised their customers with free meals. I also saw in instagram that some customers received a cake (simply because.. it is Max’s birthday!). Check out the hashtag #hbdmaxs

Malay niyo, your fave branch might come next. Salamat sa #Chickenlove! #HBDMaxs

Max’s continuously expands and shares the love with its customers. In case you haven’t heard yet, Max’s also acquired some of our favorite restaurant brands like Maple (my favorite!!!), Dencio’s, Pancake House, Jamba Juice, etc.
Max’s also ventured into hotel business with the new Meranti Hotel – a 12-storey hotel with 60 rooms located just across the first Max’s restaurant in Quezon City.
We got to party there last night. Sweet new place.

Truly, Max’s secret to success is its sincere ways to be a thoughtful host.

Max’s is in our blood. The personal connection we have with the brand is what drives us forward and is what inspires us to cascade the guest-host relationship to all of our branches. Generosity and hospitality which are virtues my lola lived, are messages we want to communicate on all levels.
Jim Fuentabella, VP for Corporate Marketing.

Cheers to many more years of #chickenlove and #saraptothebones!
