I was running and sprinting in the lobby of Discovery Primea to get a glimpse of the Ipanema with Stark Collection which was launched last March 29th, in Manila. 

I was late. Daughter duties must come first. I bumped into Shen and Rowena who came from the event. I didn’t know how they juggle work and motherhood (+ looking good). 

When I finally got inside the ballroom and laid my eyes on the #IpanemawithStark Collection – I thought – those are the kind of pairs I would want to wear when running errands and covering events. They look so comfy and light in minimalist designs. I love the play on color and twists. 

Ipanema is one of the famous Brazilian shoe brands in the country which has been producing high quality and stylish sandals and flip flops for both men and women. The collection which is called Ipanema with Starck  is a collaborative effort with world-renowned creator Philippe Starck. 

The collection features 4 distinct designs offered in myriad colors that are inspired by various possible lifestyles and moods. There is something for artsy, glamorous, natural and sophisticated chic.

The collection’s palette is a blend of neutral and citrus tones including white, black, smoke and yellow, orange rose, transparent yellow and transparent orange. I always love minimalist and black colors, but the citrus colors seem so relaxing and easy on the eyes. I was officially torn which one I like the best. 

Ipanema with Stark was developed with 30% recycled materials and is 100% recycable. The production process employs propriety plastique injection technique to guarantee product comfort and delicate quality. The shoe straps are handcrafted to ensure perfect fit. 

This new and intense collaboration joins an impressive bevy of Starck creations spanning lifestyle products such as furniture and windmills, to revolutionary mega-yachts and inspiring hotels and restaurants. The Ipanema with Stark makes me feel naked. But that’s how comfortable shoes and slippers should feel right? I love that the designs can be worn in casual and comfy-dressy days.
