When Cartoon Network Makes Me Miss Being a Kid #CNSummerSplash
Here is something that not a lot of people know, I don’t really watch cartoons (am I normal?). Even during my younger years, there were only a few cartoon shows that got me hooked on TV. They say that when I get kids of my own, I would know all the cartoon characters. I guess, it is a parenting skill.
But, I admit that I (still) get excited and giddy when I see cartoon characters “in person”. I guess, I am still a kid – and I want to stay a kid.

Kids and families got a fun summer treat from Cartoon Network last May 13th at the SM by the Bay, SM Mall  of Asia during the Cartoon Network’s Summer Splash.
The venue was packed with kids and kids-at-heart who got to try different activities inspired by Cartoon Network shows like We Bare Bears, Mighty Magicwords, Ben 10 and the Powerpuff Girls.

Kids played together in The Powerpuff Girls Pokey Oaks Bubble Game, where players faced-off in a game of soccer while wearing epic zorb jackets. Fans of Ben 10 got a kick out of battling alien and saving the day at the Omnitag Water Tag Game. Brave kids climbed the Mighty Magiswords to Boulderly Go!

There was also arts-and-crafts area where kids got creative with their own masterpiece. For the adults who want to take a break from adulting, there was a zipline to ride to see the whole view of the activity area.  The event ended with a Mad Science Show and fireworks display.

Being surrounded with kids who are naturally curious makes me want to stop adulting. I missed being a kid. I missed not worrying about different responsibilities and playing different roles – I just missed playing games. I missed getting excited over colorful stuff and knick knacks and not worrying where to keep them – or even having the time to use them (because, minimalist :)). I missed wearing cute headbands. I missed looking forward to growing up and getting to legal age.
I love that kids have the license to play all day. Yes, I missed being a kid. But then again, kids don’t get the privilege (yet) to stay late at night – to party, to have coffee date, or to watch TV series (or maybe, cartoons).
