Falafel Yo! Greenbelt 3, Cinema
A man named Guy Mann grew up eating the Israeli treat called Falafel and wanted to bring the authentic flavor to the Philippines.
There aren’t many authentic Israeli restaurants in Manila. Now, you can find one in Greenbelt 3, near the Cinemas. Just look for the sign Falafel, Yo!
Falafel is considered the national dish of Israel which is a popular street food made with mashed chicken peas (or garbanzos beans), parsley, coriander, garlic and other Mediterranean spices. It is usually served in a pita bread with a choice of vegetables, hummus and tabini sauce.
There are only 3 choices in the Falafel, Yo! menu (which I find really interesting!).
Falafel Yo Php 159
Falafelito Php 95
Falafel Beast Php 189 (comes with meat)
The Yo is their traditional take on the Israeli sandwich. Imagine, 6 deep-fried falafel balls stuffed in a s chewy pita bread lines with different vegetables. The serving size is big and quite filling.
The Falafelito is a smaller version that is perfect for kids which comes with fries and no chili. While the Falafel Beast is made of meat and chickenpeas for those who want more protein in their sandwich.
Falafel Yo is surprisingly good especially if you take each bite with special sauces.
For those who crave for more veggies, they can add fried eggplant, homemade hummus pickled onions, roasted green chillers, cabbage lettuce and a Mediterranean tomato and cucumber mix.
Make sure that you skip the usual soda and order the Lemongrass Juice Php 95 to complete the Israeli flavors and dining experience.
