What to Order at Botejyu Japanese Restaurant?

March 13, 2019
One of the reasons why I love Japan is the good food.
There are only a few good Japanese Restaurants in Manila that offers the best okonomiyaki, ramen, katsu and all other authentic Japanese dishes.
Now, here’s a new favorite dining destination: Botejyu which just recently opened its flagship store in One Bonifacio High Street in BGC.

Botejyu’s name is a mix of words “Bote” (the sound of a just-flipped okonomiyaki) and “Jyu” (the delightful sizzling sound as it cooks on the teppan grill). Botejyu is Japan’s Pioneer Okonomiyaki and Okosoba Specialty Restaurant Chain.

In the Philippines, Botejyu one of Viva International Food & Restaurants, Inc.’s
franchises, the same company that has brought unique and winning brands such as Wing Zone,
Pepi Cubano, Paper Moon Cake & Boutique Cafe, and Yogorino.
Botejyu was born in the gourmet city of Tamade, Oaka with specialty of okonomiyaki. During this time American flour was mixed with water to make pancakes as alternative basic food.

Nishino then started innovative approach of throwing in whatever ingredient that was available for an easy-to-cook okonomiyaki. He also started using mayonnaise as a topping (which was mostly used as a condiment for cold food).
Botejyu then developed mixing yakisoba and okonimiyaki in one dish – and okosoba was born.
And with that history talk, I suggest you try Botejyus okonoomiyaki and okosoba. Botejyu‘s okonomiyaki is crispy on the outside, and light and flavorful on the inside.
You can choose from different flavors: Mochi & Gouda Cheese, Pork, Pork & Kimchi, Bacon & Cheese, the classic Osaka, among others.

An Instagrammable plate and filling dish – the All Star Takoyaki comes in 6 different flavors. It is made of the Botejyu original flour-based batter with diced octopus and seasoning. The delicious dish is cooked to have a ball shape.

The  Paitan Ramen with Char-siu Pork is a filling, flavorful and comforting bowl of ramen. It is a rich and delicious pork and noodle dish dashed with a trace of Botejyu’s magical oil that adds soul to the soup.

What is a Japanese Dining experience without tempura? The Shrimp Tempura Platter is is light and crunchy, with hints of natural umami flavors. A perfect contrast plate to enjoy with your ramen.

For a very filling lunch such as this, I would normally have a glass of soda – but I opted to try the Grape Shake.

For dessert, you can try the Chocolate Pudding, Milk Pudding, Macha Ice Cream (it has its prominent earthy taste) and the Honey Toast with Brown Sugar Syrup and Creamy Kinako.

So I heard that with the opening of the new flagship store in BGC, Botejyu would soon introduce premium dishes. Who is excited for that?
