I first got my multiple-entry Korean visa in 2017 through a credit card promo with BDO. At that time, we had to change our plans because my friend unfortunately got denied, so we flew to Taiwan instead. Alot of things happened, then there was the Pandemic, and I didn’t get to use my Korean visa.
In 2023, I tried my luck again and applied for a Korean visa – this time even opting for a multiple-entry visa in preparation for the upcoming BTS concert – but I was denied. I was thinking, they have questioned why I didn’t use my old visa and why they should grant me a new one.
Applying for a visa has always been a nerve-wracking experience for me, so I was extremely happy when I got approved, even for a single-entry Korean visa, last December! I took advantage of the credit card promos with BDO and BPI.

BTS Locations We Visited in Seoul
When we planned our 6-day trip to Seoul, South Korea, I made sure to include several BTS locations in our itinerary. Seoul is home to countless meaningful BTS landmarks – places where the “seven boys from Korea” began their journey. ARMYs often call this a “BTS pilgrimage,” and each location truly feels like a travel bucket list experience.

KOREAN VISA APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS (as a FREELANCER)
- passport – valid for at least 6 months & photocopy of bio page
- photo in white background – taken in the last 6 months per the photo requirement 35 × 45 mm
- visa application form – downloaded from KVACC site, filled out, and printed in A4
- BIR Certificate of Registration – photocopy
- BIR 1701A – photocopy (I included it to show responsible citizenship)
- OECD Visa/Stamps – valid visas and photocopies, including arrival stamps (past 5 years) – most of my travels are in Japan
- credit card statements (last 3 months) – BDO and BPI
- photo copy of credit cards
- cover letter
For the simplified Korean Visa Application, there is no longer a need to provide Financial Statements and Bank Certificates.
I made sure to include both my BDO and BPI credit cards to demonstrate my financial capacity and responsible handling of my finances. It’s best to have a good credit record – meaning your last three statements are current, with no finance charges or outstanding dues.
I also included a cover letter to show my sincerity in applying for a visa and to clearly state that my visit would be purely for vacation. Additionally, I attached a list of the documents I submitted and emphasized that I have previously traveled to other countries and complied with their immigration requirements.
HOW TO APPLY FOR A KOREAN VISA
I applied directly through KVACC. It was October, and there were so many applicants – most were probably trying to meet the simplified visa application deadline, which was extended until December 2026.

When I arrived, the receptionist checked my documents, and I was given a stub.
I waited for an hour before my number was called.
At the counter (located on the next floor), they checked and verified my documents. I was advised of the earliest possible visa issuance date (November 4, which was too tight for our target flight date), but I simply said okay – we could always adjust our travel dates. The most important thing was securing the visa.

KOREA VISA PROCESSING TIMELINE:
October 14, 2025 – visa application
October 30, 2025 – received SMS regarding visa decision
November 14, 2025 – picked up visa
It took a few weeks before I claimed my passport, but I was able to check the status online through https://www.visa.go.kr/.
The claiming process was the same: you’re given a stub and wait for your number to be called.
At the counter, they verify your name and then hand over your passport along with a printed copy of your visa. Previously, visas were stamped in the passport, but now they are issued as a printed document, which you can also download online.
