Traveling makes one’s hair different. I noticed that after I visited a few countries. It is not just the weather that affects the hair, factors like the water in the country, chemicals, sun light exposure and humidity may affect one’s hair and its shape.
This is why, at least twice a year or before going on a trip, I make sure that I get a treatment for my hair. This would help in locking in shine of the hair by temporarily coating the outer layer of the hair to remove frizz, enhance shine and decrease blow-drying time.
I always go to my favorite salon for this kind of treatment; but this time around I tried the service from a home-grown brand, Freshaire Salon. I scheduled a treatment in SM The Block.
When I got to the salon, they first did an assessment of my hair and set my expectations that Brazilian Blowout would only tame the hair (but not really straighten it), and should only last to 3 months. I wanted to keep my hair’s volume and body so I chose the Brazilian Blowout.
The process took around 4 hours (faster than the previous treatments I had).
1. First, they washed my hair (even if I already showered and washed it). They said they have to use the special shampoo for the treatment.
2. Next, they applied the treatment to my hair by section, ensuring that each strand were brushed and combed.
3. They left the treatment for 15 minutes.
4. Without washing my hair, they blow dried it and ironed it carefully. This is the process that took the longest.
The hair salon attendant who handled my treatment said that this is the most crucial part and has to be done correctly to make sure that the treatment would lock in the hair.
5. After 15 minutes, they washed my hair again and dried it.
The treatment might feel a little too strong for the eyes, so make sure that you keep your hair out of your eyes. I noticed though that Freshaire”s products don’t feel itchy and stingy in my scalp. The attendants are really patient and nice too – giving the same level of service – even if I have longer and thicker hair.
During my recent trip to Tokyo, Japan, my hair remained smooth and manageable. The funny thing is, I forgot my hair comb during the trip, and I just hair comb my hair everyday while blow drying it. Surprisingly, it gives a good, smooth and manageable hair.
What I love about Brazilian Blowout Treatment is it doesn’t restrict me from styling my hair. I had my hair braided during our Kimono Experience Tour, and my hair remained straight and smooth after washing.
I am hopeful that my hair would stay smooth and healthy for months. The Brazilian Blowout Treatment truly cuts down my preparation time in the morning – giving me more time to do other things or leave earlier for exploration.
