Manila Hotel is an iconic hotel in the Philippines for over a century.
Last December, I decided to treat mom to a staycation at The Manila Hotel. It’s been 2 years since /the last time we did a staycation (due to Covid-19 lockdown), and I wanted to give her a new experience at a hotel near our place (she is very impatient when stuck in Manila Traffic).
The Manila Hotel Lobby is still photogenic with its high ceilings, grand chandeliers, and beautiful furnishings.
I booked our hotel room via Klook for Php 4,800 which is a really good deal. It was an easy transaction. My friend (who was working at the Manila Hotel) put me on the VIP List and when we arrived to check-in, we were escorted to our room at the Executive Floor with the Guest Services Officer (thanks #V)
Klook.comInstead of checking in at the front desk, we completed the check-in process inside our room.
Our spacious room has a King-size Bed and a view of Intramuros. The room has the usual TV with cable, mini-bar (although there are no alcohol and drinks inside), hot and cold shower, and a TV in the bathroom so you can still watch your favorite show.
Sharing some of the photos of our room:
Ideally, we wanted to stay for 2 nights to really enjoy the hotel facilities and pool, but we also have other commitments so we just stayed for one night. We just stayed in our room, enjoyed the view, watched TV (I watched Netflix) and slept.
I ordered food via Grab and pick it up at the lobby. You can order food good for 2 (without corkage fee).
The Executive Lounge is currently closed (but they are opening it soon as the CoIn the morning, we had a breakfast buffet at Cafe Ylang Ylang. Our GSO reminded us that it was best to go early for breakfast as it gets busy at around 9:00 AM, so we did.
I don’t usually eat breakfast, but I do during travels or staycations. It is a buffet, but the stations are still enclosed with glass panels and there are servers who assist in preparing and serving food.
Although I mostly spend my time with mom at home, I am happy to have this memory with her.
