Unboxing My First BTS Lightstick (latest ersion) for Arirang Concert

May 10, 2026

For the longest time, I rarely bought merch.

I’ve always been someone who spends more on experiences – concerts, trips, memories -rather than collecting physical items. I like keeping things minimal and only owning pieces that truly mean something to me. I think most of the BTS merch I owned were gifts from my friends who graciously indulged me in this fan girl era.

Attending Agust D D-Day Concert

I always get excited about the idea of traveling, and this time around, as a fan girl. It was my first time seeing my BTS Bias, Min Yoongi (aka Suga of BTS or Rapper agustd.

But with the BTS concert happening this year (and until next year), I knew I needed to get my own BTS Lightstick. I attended SUGA and J-Hope’s concerts before, and at the time, I didn’t want to bring another item because I preferred keeping my hands free. But for this comeback, I wanted the full experience.

What Is the BTS Lightstick?

The official BTS lightstick is called the ARMY Bomb, a Bluetooth-enabled concert lightstick used during BTS concerts and fan events.

It syncs with concert systems to create coordinated light effects across entire stadiums, turning fans into part of the show itself.

Why BTS Fans Love the ARMY Bomb

The ARMY Bomb is more than a concert accessory.

For many fans, it represents:

  • Shared experiences
  • Concert memories
  • Emotional connection to BTS
  • Being part of the BTS Army community

Unboxing BTS Light Stick version 4

Here’s a quick unboxing video. This new version of the BTS Lightstick is much smaller, which honestly makes it easier to bring around. It uses 3 AAA batteries (though I wish it were rechargeable via USB). It also comes with a dust bag, hand strap, manual, and photo cards. I especially love the selfies – they feel like the kind of photos they’d casually send you via DM.

How do you connect the BTS lightstick?

Thankfully, setup is pretty simple.

Basic Setup Steps

  1. Insert batteries
  2. Download the official concert/lightstick app
  3. Turn on Bluetooth mode
  4. Pair your ARMY Bomb

Once connected, the lightstick can:

  • Change colors
  • Sync during concerts
  • React to venue systems
