#WhenRuthGoestoLondon, I didn’t think much of what to wear and the idea to fit in the London crowd. I was all set to doing everything just to see the sights and sounds of London – and I did. I remember packing before my flight and I just throw in whatever I could find in my closet.
The other day, we got to experience London fashion through Chelsea, a London-based clothing brand for women which offers trendy pieces at affordable prices (you wouldn’t believe!).
We got a peek at the Chelsea’s new collection and inspiration (and how to wear them!).
“Tastefully dainty, sophisticated yet fun and modern” – Chelsea founder and designer, Kimberly Tugade describes the brand.
Chelsea aims to help women dress effortlessly chic.
“When I was conceptualizing Chelsea, I had this idea of a brand that’s very smart—one that offers functional clothes. In London, people dress the way they do because it allows them to go from one place to another without looking inappropriate—they can go from a pub to a five-star hotel and still look like they belong there.”
When I saw the collection, I already have my eyes set on the plum coat.
Most of the styles have a touch of vintage, play on prints and colors. I know I have worn something like a ruffled skirt, dainty top and shift dress in my fashion timeline. They look so chic and girly.
You guys wouldn’t believe the inspiration…
Yes wallpaper prints!
How chic is this?
The Neo Victorian and Edwardian Fashion. Yes, I can see myself wearing this.
Ah, the 60’s! Hello Twiggy!
There goes the red coat! Would you believe that it is only Php1,500?
We were all surprised to know that the pieces range from Php 500 to Php 1,500.
Kim shared that she didn’t believe that anyone would take interest on that red coat because we live in a tropical country. But we are world travelers and we love fashion. Filipinos can always find creative ways to style it.
Chelsea hold an #ootd challenge for us during the event. We were given 15 minutes to dress up because.. “we were invited to a High Tea Party…!”
I scanned the racks of clothes once again and I thought if this was a real high tea party, I had to dress quickly (because I was already wearing a dress). I want to wear something that still speaks my style. There goes the black.. (I was heartbroken when I could not fit into the small size..!)
As Kim puts it “At the end of the day, it’s about looking good and looking like you didn’t try at all,”
And to complete our London-styling, we learned about makeup and the new Benefits Cosmetics products. Next time, I will try to be more experimental in the eyes and play with colors.
I really love this new fashion discovery.
Chelsea is now available in the Philippines through Zalora and Wellworth Department Stores.
Soon in Robinsons Cebu.
