#KiplingMakeMeHappy with Kipling’s Kaeon Collection – The Most Eco-Friendly Bag Collection

May 5, 2016

Three things that caught my attention during the opening of House of Kipling, SM Megamall last April 20th: the long lines outside the store, the Spring Summer Collection and the Kaeon Collection.

I was in the mall 30 minutes after it officially opened and I saw ’em – customers patiently waiting for the grand opening. The big deal: Kipling offered 50% off on selected items to the first 100 customers. As soon as the doors opened, I saw them grabbing every colorful and fun bags from Kipling – while I tried my luck at taking photos.

Cute photo of the Kipling Staff having a selfie during the opening 🙂

I never realized that Kipling has such a huge following in Manila. It is like a religion and I understand the belief after I got my first Kipling bag – the Kipling Kotral J Messenger Bag (Monkey J Beige). The sling bag which I use for travel and lazy strolls. I got the one in Beige color (classic and safe tone) that I can easily match with my clothes. While I try to bring only the essentials during travel, I always end up stuffing my bag with so many things (like powerbank and camera) – and I find that Kipling can handle the stresses of commute and travel.

No wonder more and more people are loving the brand – kids, adults, millineals. And who can resist that cute dangling monkey key chain in every bag? Did you guys know that each monkey chain dangling on a Kipling bag was named after a Kipling employee? How cute is that?

Although I find the Kipling’s bags and styles a bit too young and colorful for my liking, I felt like an instant convert when I saw the Spring Summer Collection 2016.

Then came the better deal – the Kaeon Collection.

Kaeon Collection is a premiere collection from Kipling which is dubbed as the most creative, playful and eco-friendly collection.

What makes it eco-friendly? The material used in every bag is an innovative new fabric called “Aires” . The fabric is light and makes it possible to create bags with 37% recycled fibers which use 90%  less  water  during  the  dyeing  process, Now that’s a nice conversation-starter when someone commends your bag.

I am not kidding when I say, Kaeon Collection is a beautiful collection.
See. This.

I love this “Ready Now’ satchel bag with zipped compartments and diagonal front giant zip pockets,in contrasting design colours. The bag allows for organization and the design offers flexibility from day to night.

I can’t find the words to describe the ‘On a Roll’ backpack – maybe, a flirty backpack? It  combines  incredible  comfort, withs pecialdesign and adjustable straps. I can imagine women on the go using this backpack which can hold your kikay kit, laptp and gadgets – and maybe a pair of shoe or clothes – yes, it is that spacious!  Rounding  off  this  exciting style  is  the modern  black,  wine  and  denim  colored palette  playfully  brought  to life  with pops of fluorescent yellow and orange giving the bag a modern fashionable twist.

This is a funny thought, but I imagine my older self using The  Life  Saver  shopper  bag while I stroll around and have designer coffee. It absolutely takes  the  lead  in  luxe  design.  A  main  zipped compartment,  zipped  front  pocket,  and  studded  feet  extend  the  classic shopper  shape  taking  it  from  casual  to  smart. It is truly a Life Saver with all the different compartments for different life essentials.

Now who would have thought you can find a date clutch bag in the Hose of Kipling? Well, say hello to Fuzzy Friend. Inspired by huge  trend  for  faux-furisits  mix  of  textures that is fashionable  and whimsical.  I love the play on vivid orange, golden yellow and deep purple in this very sexy clutch.

Maybe, I need to save more money before I can get my hands on the new Kaeon Collection… But for now, I am loving this Kipling Totebag that is flexible and adapts to my needs.
I am easy to please.

Although I love small sling bags, I still tend to bring a lot especially when covering events, doing errands and traveling. The Kipling Totebag can be expanded to accommodate more of my must-brings 🙂 I love that it blends with any ensemble. One of the bags I would truly keep. Although it is not part of the Kaeon Collection, it helps in “keeping things green” because it allows you to use it more (and buy less bags).
