I love how fashion has taught us to be playful, not only with styles but also with words. We set aside terms like casual, formal and semi-formal instead we come up with dress codes that best express our styles and individuality. 

Last night at the Zalora’s Fashion Night Out, we witnessed as Mossimo unveiled its latest capsule collection entitled Mossimo X that is best described as “Sexy Cool”. The pieces are inspired by everyday urban streetwear with unconventional twists.

Mossimo has always been known for clothes that are very California cool. The brand has always been fashionably laidback, almost to the point of being functional. We want to shake things up with this collection. The pieces are very dynamic, easy to wear, up-to-date and versatile yet daring. They take the brand from California to New York. – John Lonzano, stylist and curator for Mossimo X. 

We may not be too familiar with Californian and New York fashion, but we do understand that comfort is the common ground in fashion – no matter which timezone we are in. 

I love that Mossimo X is both casual and edgy – from oversized sweaters in different colors and patterns, flattering one piece plaid dresses, to ripped jeans – each piece allows wearers to be who they want to be. 

I love that Mossimo X still has that minimalist feel in each piece but still permits one to be edgy – because that’s how we all see fashion and style. We evolve and experiment – and Mossimo X allows us to do such.
