I am starting to become a backpack girl and Rootote the newest brand to add in my small backpack collection.
Rootote is a famous Japanese brand iconic for multi-functional totes and backpacks is now available in Manila. We were at the opening of the first store in The Block, SM North Edsa.Â
I felt that using a backpack is not practical and safe for my things. I want my bags to my body and my stuff within my reach. My recent favorites are Anello (not surprised that everyone is carrying one) and Pacsafe Bag (the more stylish and girly one – but my problem is, its uneven back strap).Â

Adding to my current fave is my new Rootote Backpack.Â
A little brand history for the curious ones, Rootote was established in 1978 and got its from Kangaroo’s Pouch which is translated by Rootote’s patented Roo Pocket which is present in all Rootote bags.Â
I love its simple, classic and no-fuss styles. The materials are durable and insides are covered with water-resistant cloth. I personally love the two-way lock that is anti-theft – instead of zipper, Rootote uses velcro – which you can hear when unfastened.
Rootote is the perfect companion for travel, sports, casual days and other outdoor activities. It looks casual yet stylish.
Check out the Rootote Backpacks and Totes available at the new store.Â
