City Chef : Home-Cooked Food Delivery Service in Manila
It is not the best thing to hear when mom complains about her struggle to cook a healthy meal for us everyday. I guess, mom would always be like that. They want just the best for their kids. I am not yet a mom, but I know how difficult it is to plan the meals for the family, do the everyday trip to the market and spend hours in the kitchen.
There are days that I give her a “day off”  😀 – meaning, I let her not cook a meal for a day (or just for lunch or dinner) and I call for food delivery. The only problem is, we usually order from the fastfood chains – mostly pizza and chicken. There are days when we would do restaurant takeout or delivery, but they are very costly with dishes usually at Php 400 ++.
We recently got to try the new food delivery service in Manila City Chef. It is non-fast food and non-diet type of food delivery. City Chef delivers home-cooked meals which is at Php 450/day or Php 2,240/week.

We got to try the service for two days and my mom is happy about it.
On the first night, we had Pancit Bihon and Bangus in Olive Oil. It was a perfect timing because my mom craved for Pancit (yet, she was too lazy to cook). I love the Bangus in Olive Oil because it is boneless. My mom has never cooked something like this before so it is good to try something new for dinner.

The following night, we had Korean Beef and Korean Pancake (again, something new to try that my mom would not probably cook). The servings are good for 3 – 4 pax. There’s a tub of rice included in the delivery. I love that the food is stored in food keepers for easy storage in the fridge.

Doing a little math (because my mom was so curious how much it costs and if it is ideal rather than cooking at home), each dish would cost you around Php 225. The same price when you order a meal for just one person in a restaurant. The best thing about the City Chef is that they deliver before 7 pm. Just perfect for dinner time with family. This service lets us focus on more important things or people. ❤️
