Mickey Mouse ‘s 90th birthday celebration continues in the Philippines with the collaboration of Walt Disney Company Philippines and World Balance to bring us a limited edition collection that we can wear anywhere.

I recently wrote in my Tokyo Disneysea blog how Disney and Mickey Mouse bring us happiness and the kid in us. There is something about the sight of the lovable mouse that makes me excited and happy.

The Mickey Mouse x World Balance Collection was launched last November 22, and I was miles away from Manila covering an event in Cambodia. I know I have to get my hands on the latest collection. 

The Mickey Mouse x World Balance Collection is composed of footwear, apparel and other accessories that gives a modern but classic take on everyone’s favorite mouse. World Balance designers worked closely with Disney to bring the collection to life by using never before seen icons associated with Mickey Mouse, and the nostalgic images to create a cohesive pieces of wearable art. 

Veronica Cabalinan, Country Head of The Walt Disney Company Philippines said “To celebrate Mickey Mouse’s 90th Anniversary, we want to give our Filipino fans a special range of products that will allow them to wear heir love for Mickey”

Word Balance has a solid foundation in the shoe industry and continuously reinvents itself to make the brand more relevant especially to the more younger and modern crowd. 

I really love the collection’s minimalist look, with a focus on black and white scheme. I was torn between getting a running shoe that has a “hidden mickey” logo at the back, or the slip-ons type with comic print. The plain white sneakers are too adorable too!
