Samsung S10 Launch Party with iKon at Cove Manila

I am always curious about what’s new in the tech world and smartphones. 

We all heard about the foldable phone, Galaxy Fold by Samsung – an incredible and tempting gadget; and although it is not yet officially launched in the Philippines, Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy S10 in the country. 

I got invited to the exclusive launch of Samsung S10 held at the Cove Manila in Okada last February 26, 2018.

Here are the things that you need to know about the new Samsung S10:

Maximized Infinity-O Display

Wider 19.9 screen-body ratio, and punch-hole display for the front camera. It comes in 3 variants: 5.8 inch display for Galaxy S10e, 6.1 inch display for Galaxy S10, and 6.4 inch display for Galaxy S10+. 

True Vision Multi-Camera

Galaxy S10’s True Vision Multi-Camera combines full array of lenses in one powerful device. It has a dual camera set-up utilizing 12 MP Wide Dual Aperture Lens and 16 MP Ultra-Wide Lens. 

The triple camera set-up of the Galaxy S10 & S10+ lets users easily switch shooting modes, from telephoto (2x optical zoom), to Wide (77) and Ulta-Wide (123). I think this is perfect for capturing close-up portraits and epic panorama shots. Both the S10e and S10 carry a 10 MP Dual Pixel UHD Selfie front camera while the Galaxy S10+ adds another 8 MP Camera for artistic Live Focus selfies and UHD videos.  The Galaxy S10 also functions as a Pro Camcorder that offers Super Steady & High-Quality Video Recording.

1 TB Built-In Storage

This sounds crazy, but yes – 1 TB of built-in storage expandable up to 1.5 TB on the limited-edition Galaxy S10+ variant. The phone is also the first to use the first-ever embedded Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner that reads the 3D contours of physical thumbprint – not just 2D image of it. 

Wireless Powershare

Galaxy S10 allows charging of Qi-certified smartphones by simply placing them against the flagship smartphone. Wireless Powershare also charge compatible wearables, such as Galaxy Watch, and Galaxy Buds. This surely saves time and cables!

iKon for Samsung 

During the exclusive launch, we were treated to a performance by South Korean boy band iKon. 

Here are some photos I took. I just enjoyed most of the performance. It was my first time to see KPop perform live and I love their energy!

I was surprised that one of the members (Kim Jinhwan) said that he can speak Bisaya dialect. He also shared that he loves Sinigang (too cute because not a lot of foreign friends I know like Sinigang!).

I think the boys are really adorable. Even Joey Mead said they are really cute. Haha

(I didn’t get to take a lot of photos because during the middle of their performance, I had to rush to the toilet – girl problem 🩸 😔)


Anyway, they said that they will be back soon for a real concert!
