It is not everyday that you meet an artist whose heart is so pure and eyes are so keen at anything aesthetic. 

When I first got a call from Pam (of the very powerful team Eventzm), he talked about fashion designer, Kirby Cruz – and his vision to transform the streets of Sta Cruz into a fashion runway, I felt very excited being a Manila girl that I am. I just knew, it is going to be big. 

That is what dreams and goals are all about. You have to set them high so you would feel challenged, excited and focused. 

When I first met Kirby, I already knew this kid has the talent, skills, and focus on what he really wants.  He showed me around his Fashion Hospital – a 6-story building that he designed himself – from the kind of lighting he wanted at the stairs, to how the tiles should be planted on the floor, and how many strokes of paint the wall would get, every inch, corner and dent of The Fashion Hospital look aesthetically pleasing.

I understood Kirby and his vision on arts. I became an instant fan.  

Then came September 29th, the big day for Kirby Cruz as The Fashion Hospital officially opened its doors carrying 2 brands under its wings. The Kirby Cruz which offers customized haute couture pieces that promise to give clients a very personal take on their clothing choices; and the Fashion Hospital by Kirby Cruz which offers off-the-rack pieces perfect for those who need gowns/suits/dresses for events.

Why the Fashion Hospital, you ask? Kirby prides himself as a “fashion doctor”. He makes sure that he crafts clothes that hide fashion maladies like body structure or birth marks – allowing clients to wear their dresses again.

Kirby breathes fashion and style. He first started his career in fashion in 2012 as one of the finalists for the Mega Young Fashion Designers Competition. He honed his skills at fashion design by working for a local retail brand.  He later on helped with the family business, but didn’t bid goodbye to his first love – and he continuously designed gowns and suits for clients.

During the event, Kirby showcased his collection through a fashion show featuring celebrities like Awra Briguela, Kira Balinger, and Patch Magtanong,  

From Party, Streetwear, Suits and Bridal Gowns, Kirby Cruz has everything for different style and lifestyle. The fashion show is a feast in itself! I love everything from the collection, runway design, models and music. 

I cannot really pinpoint the main highlight of the event – as guests have something to look and indulge in every second of the party, but Kirby Cruz’s big reveal is an awesome revelation. 

Truly, nothing is holding back Kirby as he sang Shaw Mendes, Nothing Holding Me Back while working the runway.
