Tints of Nature: Natural, Vegan-Friendly and Cruelty-Free Hair Color

One of the easiest ways to change one’s look is by changing your hairstyle – or changing your hair color. I always wish I could be more experimental with my hair color – but the only reason I dye my hair is to cover my gray hair and re-growth.

I remember when I was younger, people think I color my hair because of its natural dark color that gave a nice shine. Everything changed when I decided to change my hair to light – this was when Ombre was cool – and then, gray hair started to show up. So every month, I dye my hair – and that means slowly killing it – and making it more damaged.

Recently, I got acquainted with all-natural hair dyes from Healthy Options – the Tints of Nature.
Healthy Options hosted a hair workshop with Cloe Hazell from Tints of Nature where she discussed and demonstrated how to properly use the Tints of Nature products.

I try not to spend so much time in the salon, so I always chose to dye my hair at home at my own free time.

The Tints of Nature Permanent Color comes with bottles of color fix and color gel, clarifying shampoo, Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner, and plastic gloves and hair cap.

I first washed my hair with the Clarifying Shampoo. Its purpose is to remove any unwanted residue and styling products that can ‘coat’ the outside of your hair to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment.

Then, I applied 4 pumps of Hydrate Treatment and left it for 15 minutes. This will help moisturize my hair – allowing to absorb the color. I washed and towel-dried my hair.

After shampoo and treatment, I just transferred the color gel to the color fix bottle – and gently shake it. I squeezed the color starting at the roots and hairline, working it through hair.  I love that the Tints of Nature Hair Color is thicker compared to other products I previously used. It is less messy to apply and I only need a few drops to cover hair sections.

As it is made of natural ingredients, it is not painful in my eyes and I didn’t feel any stinging sensation on my scalp.  It made coloring a lot more bearable – allowing me to cover other parts of my hair.

I covered my hair with the plastic cap for 40 minutes and I washed it with the Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner.

I love how gray hair was perfectly covered and my hair color looks more even. Although it felt a little coarse (compared to when I use other dyes), I love that my hair is treated with natural ingredients and no chemicals. It doesn’t smell like I just went out of a salon.
