Buy, Sell and Lease Your Property for Free via Ohmyhome App
A house and lot will always be good investments. I grew up with reminders from my parents how lucky we are to be living in a place we can call our own.
It is a different story for Ohmyhome founders, Rhonda Wong and Race Wong. Having experienced the strain of moving from one home to another while growing up, Race and Rhonda inspired them to build Ohmyhome and seek to guide people in making property-related decisions and transactions.
Property transaction will be much easier in the Philippines as Singapore’s first one-stop property app Ohmyhome will soon launch in the country. Filipinos will be able to buy, sell, lease or rent their properties in the Philippines, and even in regions like Singapore and Malaysia for free by just downloading the Ohmyhome app.
Through an intimate Zoom Meeting, I got to learn more about the story of the two sisters who are both go-gethers in their own careers. You can read this related article and learn more about the Alpha Women of Ohmyhome.
Rhonda and Race Wong established the proptech startup to streamline property transactions through a unique hybrid model, combining agent services with a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) platform. Chief Product Officer Race Wong explains that with the DIY platform, our objective is simple. By enabling property owners to take control of their own homes, they save time and money. Once a property is posted, the algorithm will match them with the buyers.
Ohmyhome, after all, takes care of the customers’ entire transaction journey—from search and deal-closing all the way through to legal documentation and mortgage advisory. The app is free to use and does not charge customers for listing and for connecting them to buyers or sellers.
Ohmyhome’s venture in the Philippines is driven by love. Back in 2016 when the proptech startup team in Singapore only had less than ten people, two members were Filipino. Race and Rhonda, who loved and valued their growing team understand that their Filipino team member had to work remotely and separate from his family to work. Before long, Race and Rhonda made a promise to their 2 Filipino teammates that Ohmyhome will set up an office in Manila to bring them closer to their family.
Today, both teammates are in the Ohmyhome’s Philippine office (where their families are). With more Filipinos joining the team, Rhonda says that “offering Ohmyhome’s services to the country of our beloved teammates is a dream-come-true because it is they who see the numerous gaps in the local property market’s existing solutions.”
“We designed the Ohmyhome application and website for Filipinos and made modifications to make sure that the technology is suitable and relevant to the Philippine context. We wanted the platform to be truly built by the Filipino, for the Filipinos.”
With over 5,000 property transactions in its Singapore and Malaysia markets and a customer satisfaction rate of 99%, Ohmyhome expects to replicate the feat as it advances its technological capabilities in the Philippine real estate industry.
