realme Buds Q2: Light, Aesthetic Earbuds

Whenever someone asks me for a recommendation for quality and affordable brand of mobile phones and earphones, realme always comes to mind.

realme is currently the number 1 smartphone brand in the Philippines, and has been setting foothold in the Artificial Intelligence of Things, with introduction of smart devices and now, True Wireless Stereo with realme Buds Q2.

The realme Buds Q2 is an affordable earbuds that offer 20-hour total playback, 10mm dynamic bass boost driver, and 88mssuper low latency in gaming mode. DESIGN AND STYLE

The iconic yellow box of realme Buds Q2 includes pair of realme Buds Q2, charging case, charging cable, instructions and silicon eartips.

One of the things that I noticed about the realme Buds Q2 is that it is lighter compared to other earbuds I have previously used and review. Each ear bud weighs only 4.1 g (which is even lighter than an A4 paper). The casing is smaller, too – making it ideal to bring when going out, or for future travels.
Although I am more into black (or white) color, I love the muted cool blue color I got. A good alternative for the usual tones I use, which also speaks of youthful vibe.

The realme Buds Q2 may feel “full” when worn, but it actually feels very light and comfortable. It incorporates the cut-shape aesthetic of kaleidoscopes into the earbuds’ design. I appreciate how realme uses the earbud interior part to express different creative styles.

Perfect for everyday use, it also supports IPX4 water resistance rating to prevent splash, rain, and sweat in
everyday use scenarios.

LISTENING EXPERIENCE

What makes the realme Bud Q2 different from other products (and realme’s other earbuds) is it offers better listening experience (at an affordable price).

The 10mm large driver uses high-quality PEEK&TPU polymer composite diaphragm for an incredible sound experience. It does give a more balanced sound.

Gamers are in a treat, as the realme Bud Q2 has Gaming Mode for a perfect sync between video and audio while
playing games or watching movies. The latency is reduced by as much as 51%, it only takes 88ms to transfer sound from your phone to realme Buds Q2. Although I haven’t used it for gaming, I did use it for editing my videos, and it works perfectly great.

BATTERY LIFE: up to 20 hours

realme Buds Q2 has a built-in 40mAh battery in buds and 400mAh battery in charging case. It can provide with 3-hour single continuous calling time and 5-hour single continuous music listening time, which is about the same as watching 2 movies and 4-5 episodes of a TV series.

With the charging case, the realme Buds Q2 gets a total of 20 hours of total playback, which is enough time to watch 8 movies or listen to 400 songs. With average 3-hour usage per day, realme Buds Q2 only needs to be charged once a week. The realme Buds Q2 supports charging via the Micro-USB port and takes 2.5 hours to fully charge buds with charging cas and 2 hours to fully charge the charging case.

BATTTERY LIFE AND CONNECTIVITY

The realme Bud Q2 offers faster and more stable connectivity with Bluetooth 5.0 that ensures you a high transmission speed, a powerful anti-jamming capability as well as stable signal and low power consumption. I think it works perfectly well too, as I got stable connection from my room to my bathroom.

To make the listening experience more enjoyable and fluid, the realme Bud Q2 has touch control features (which you can also configure in the realme LINK app. By default, you can use the following features:

Double Tap: Play/Pause

Triple Tap: Next Song

Long Press: Reject Call

Long Press Both Earbuds: Enter/Exit Game Mode

What of the unique things about the realme Buds Q2 is its Noise Cancelling Feature for Calls. The algorithm significantly reduces surrounding noise during a call, allowing the other person to hear more clearly and have a more engaging conversation. I think it is a thoughtful feature that focus more on human connection.
