Huawei Freebuds 4i: Stylish Buds with Active Noise Cancelling
One of the things I love about Huawei as a brand, is its luxe experience it gives me whenever I unbox a new product – regardless of its price point.
Unboxing the next Huawei Freebuds 4i gave me the same exciting, premium experience that lasted even after using the new earbuds. Packaged as a more affordable earbuds in the Huawei product line launched this year, but the sound quality is nothing lesser. The best part is it has Active Noise Cancelling feature.
UNBOXING THE HUAWEI FREEBUDS 4i
The Huawei Freebuds 4i comes with pair of earbuds, charging case, manual, charging cable and silicon ear tips.
The charging slot is at the bottom, and you can easily charge it via laptop or adaptor.
You can connect the Huawei Freebuds 4i to laptop via Bluetooth (you just simple put the ear buds inside the case and wait for the LED to blink white).
I got the Ceramic White color which is sleek and clean. I rarely go for anything white, but I found myself drawn to its simplicity and minimal appeal. The material has a polished finish, but there is no ceramic material. Even if it is white, I find it easy to maintain and clean.
The charging case has a thoughtful pebble shape, that doesn’t feel bulky. The ear buds connected to it tightly – and you need a good grip to pull them out. I think it makes everything more secured.
First time for me to use and wear earbuds with stem, and I kind of like it (for some reason, I felt more secured wearing it – that it won’t fall off). It surprisingly didn’t feel heavy (weighing only 5.5 g each ear bud), and the silicon tips feel comfortable even after wearing for long hours.
NOISE CANCELLING AND SOUND QUALITY
At the first click of play, I heard the clear and crisp sound that I am familiar with about Huawei audio products. I have been loyal with Huawei Freebuds Studio for quite a while. The sound is balanced, and the voice is clear and defined. Try listening to BTS’s song Dynamite and cover of Fix You – you will have a better appreciation of the band because you can really hear their voices and harmonization (and this is coming from someone who is not a singer). I could clearly hear Suga’s voice during his and V’s part.
The technology behind it is the 10 mm dynamic coil driver and sensitive polymer composite diaphragm.
The Huawei Freebuds 4i features Active Noise Cancelling and Awareness Mode (again, I am quite familiar with the voice prompt whenever I tap or long press on the earbuds).
To get the best experience with Huawei Freebuds 4i, it is recommended to download the Huawei AI Life app which allows you to configure the settings – for double tap controls, and even battery setting. By default, long press controls 3 settings – Noise Cancelling, Off and Awareness.
There are only a few earbuds (in the price range) that can really do good job at Noise Cancelling Feature. Using the Huawei Freebuds 4i mostly at home, it helps with reducing the sound of my air-conditioning unit, and talks from a-far. But I cannot compare it with more premium product like Huawei Freebuds Studio.
The Awareness Mode is helpful in hearing conversations, especially when you are receiving purchase delivery or having casual convesations. I think it is useful when travelling, and you don’t want to miss any flight announcements.
The Huawei Freebuds 4i offers 10 hours of listening pleasure with 1 charge; 22 hours of continuous playback together with charging case. For quick charging, it offers 4 hours of musical enjoyment with only 10-minute charging.
The Huawei Freebuds 4i is another impressive product from Huawei. It offers quality, clear sound at a more affordable price range. It may be a thousand peso – more expensive compared to other earbuds in the market, but you get quality sound. If you are into sleek and minimal design, this pair of earbuds is for you.
The Huawei Freebuds 4i is available in Red, Carbon Black and Ceramic White.
