I always give high value to my time as a resource that I cannot make more of. That is why, I love how the Huawei Watch GT 3 Gold allows me to enjoy life and time, in a classic sophisticated design.
Updated Review (July 2023): I have been using the Huawei Watch GT 3 for almost 2 years. It has been with me in different life events – walking around different cities, booking concert ticket for my fave artist, and swimming with me with Butandings. It is currently on sale at Php 9,999. Fave features:
- I can answer calls using the phone, and see messages & notifications
- I can personalize watch face
- I am not a professional swimmer but I can use it for swimming – open sea or pool swimming. It has a “drain water” feature that drains water from the watch
- it looks like a traditional watch and I can wear it with any outfit. The strap and bezel still looks nice and didn’t tarnish
- Huawei Health app is downloadable via IOS and Google Play, you can see different health metrics including workout stats, my favorite is the Sleep Monitoring.
- I can download and play music with it (but this is limited to Android phones). I am currently using an iphone and this feature is not supported.
I noticed though that the battery drains faster – which is expected, especially it is connected to my phone and I receive alerts and notifications. The full battery charge can last me one week which is still low-maintenance for me.
This may sound a little too tiring to hear, but this is one of my dream watches in terms of design and functionality. I briefly talked about my first impressions of the Huawei Watch GT 3 in my unboxing blog. It is pretty and luxurious in real life, and when worn. I have been using it for almost 2 weeks, and never mind that I always go for silver accessories, the Huawei Watch GT 3 blends perfectly with any ensembles giving my whole look a different level of sophistication.
I really like its traditional watch design and adjustable metal strap which allows for perfect fitting regardless of wrist size. It is secured and easy to clean. One of my worries is that the polish might soon tarnish because of sweat and humidity, but so far, it is still looking great and shiny. I just quickly wipe and clean it with a clean cloth after working out.
The 1.32 inches AMOLED Colour Screen which is bright and fine even under sunlight gives a premium feel and look to the watch. The ultra-clear 3D high transparent curved glass provides a full visual tension on every focus point. It has 352 ppi of pixel density. I like the rotating crown that helps me navigate easily around the different functions. This is especially helpful when my hands get sweaty during a workout. For those who would do underwater activities, this is another helpful tool.
The Huawei TRUSEEN5.0+ and 8 PhotoDiodess work together to provide more accurate Heart Rate Monitoring, Skin Temperature and Sp02 Monitoring. I just need to quickly check on the Huawei Health App to check my historical data, or even swipe left to check my Huawei Watch GT 3. I love that these health metrics are easily accessible with just quick swipes.
The Healthy Living feature of the Huawei Health App is another favorite feature of the Huawei Watch GT 3. This helps me set lifestyle goals like drinking water, getting up, breathing, or even smiling daily. It sends notifications and reminders to my Huawei Watch GT 3 to help me stay consistent.
It also features a Cycle Calendar that gives me a quick view of my period and fertile window. I can easily record my Flow, Pain or any Physical Conditions to help me keep historical data of my period. Tracking my period or when I would have my next period is necessary for me, especially when planning travels.
Although I have yet to use the GPS Tracking for my running/workout, it is nice to have this handy on my Huawei Watch GT 3, along with the 100+ workout modes. The GPS track will automatically generate a running route. This can be shared with your friends so they can join the competition, or serve as an added security in case you are going alone. It also guides you on your route back in case you get lost.
The Huawei Watch GT 3 is also equipped with Scientific Workout Guidance. You basically need to set it up in the Huawei Health App. It would ask you to verify your info, including your birthday, weight, and height to determine the best training plan for you. You can choose if you want to go for Beginner, Advanced, or even a combination of routines depending on your fitness goals (strengthening, endurance). For now, I am enjoying my Huawei Watch GT 3 in keeping myself active every day.
I can also play Music and Answer Calls using my Huawei Watch GT 3. Although I don’t intend to use these features on a normal basis, it is good to have these features handy whenever I am out, or in a get-together with friends.
