It’s been almost a year since I switched from a regular physical SIM to an eSIM. It truly enhances my mobile experience especially when traveling.
An eSIM is a digital SIM card embedded directly into your smartphone, tablet, smartwatch, or other compatible devices. The very reason I switched to an eSIM is because of the ease of convenience – I no longer need to worry about damaging my SIM esp when changing phones or using a local SIM when traveling. If you are a traveler, it is truly the best time to switch to an eSIM.
Klook.comWhen I upgraded my phone last year, I thought it would be best to utilize one of its features – eSIM. I am a Globe Postpaid Subscriber and all I needed to do was go to the nearest Globe Center to convert my SIM to an eSIM. You can check the list of compatible mobile phones for eSIM here. You will need to fill out a form and present an ID. Depending on the queue line, the process might take from 30 to 60 minutes.
I was using a different phone (for my regular SIM), and after activation of my eSIM (on my other phone), the regular SIM lost its network.
unlimited data in japan – esim
First time to try e-SIM with Unlimited Data during my trip to Japan and it is the best travel hack.
I can add up to 10 different eSIMs on my phone (I already added 2 from my previous travels in Japan and Indonesia). It is much more convenient to use as I no longer need to pick up SIM/pocket wifi in the airport, and I can easily activate the travel eSIM before the flight.
I can instantly switch to different networks (and activate my local network to check on SMS or when I need an OTP for credit card transactions). I no longer need to charge a separate device (pocket wifi) which makes city tours and explorations a lot more convenient and lighter.
