Spelunking, or exploring caves is not my favorite travel activity; the unfit girl that I am would likely skip it. But when I did a quick research about Marble Mountains, I knew that it was something that I could handle.
Marble Mountains is one of the top destinations in Da Nang, Vietnam. The Marble Mountains are five mountains made of limestone and marble, with beautiful peaks, interesting tunnels, and impressive temples. Each mountain is named after one of the five essential elements in Eastern Philosophical thought: Kim (metal), Tho (earth), Moc (wood), Hoa (fire), and Thuy (water).
Day One: Sun World Ba Na Hills
We booked our Marble Mountain Ticket via Klook – as part of the Da Nang Klook Pass. We picked up our ticket at the Ticketing Office where we had a quick Museum Tour and learned more about marbles and the site. Props to the tour guide who gave a really engaging presentation. He speaks good English and gives the best tips when visiting the Marble Mountain.
Klook.comYou can spend around 3 to 4 hours in the Marble Mountain, but you must no miss Caves Number 9, 10, and 15.
I was in awe as we explored different caves, wondering how they carved designed such beautiful grottoes and temples?
✈️ TRAVEL TIP: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. You would do a lot of walking, and stairs can be steep.
There is an elevator at the entrance that goes up (approximately 12 floors). It costs around 20,000 VND (it was part of the ticket that we purchased via Klook). I would recommend that you take the elevator, as you would also need to do alot of climbing and navigating around the temples. The stairs can get uneven and steep. There are snack kiosks at every corner, so you don’t need to worry about getting hungry and thirsty.
Sharing some of the photos I took inside the Marble Mountain.
