Where to Stay in Davao City: Casa Leticia Boutique Hotel – Affordable Hotel with Great Location

April 27, 2026

I recently flew to Davao for a workcation and decided to extend my stay to meet up and catch up with a friend. I guess that’s how adult friendships are – you take any chance to reconnect when you’re in the same city.

When we were looking for a hotel for an extended night in Davao, we wanted something that is affordable but securedcentrally located but not noisy, and comfortable enough to recharge after days of work/exploration. Thankfully, our friend found one of the best places to stay in Davao – Casa Leticia Boutique Hotel – one of the most consistently recommended affordable hotels just right in front of People’s Park.

Casa Leticia Boutique Hotel is a charming, intimate property located in the heart of Davao City, just a short walk from People’s Park. Surprisingly, you can book a hotel room for as low as Php 1,700 / night (depending on the season and availability).

The property has two locations in Davao – Casa Leticia Business Inn and Casa Leticia Boutique Hotel – both managed with a focus on personalized service and local character. The boutique branch, in particular, stands out for its warm aesthetic, thoughtful interiors, and genuinely hospitable staff.

Casa Leticia Boutique Hotel: My Room & Stay Experience

I stayed in an Executive Double Room with a warm, boutique character. It is charming and reminiscent of the old hotel, but still clean and maintained.

The room is really spacious with a Queen-sized Bed (and can still fit in an extra bed). There’s a living area, a TV set, air-conditioning unit, hot and cold shower, safety box, mini ref, and the usual hotel amenities including basic toiletries.

Casa Leticia Boutique Hotel Davao Review

It’s a comfortable place to stay, whether you’re traveling for business or with family and friends. We each had our own rooms, so I really enjoyed my “me time” while still feeling safe and at ease throughout our stay since I know my friends are just staying on the adjacent rooms.

Room Quality and Amenities

For an affordable boutique hotel in Davao, Casa Leticia delivers a surprisingly elevated experience:

  • Well-maintained, air-conditioned rooms with comfortable beds
  • Free Wi-Fi – they give 2 access codes to connect 2 devices, but to set expectations, the signal can be a bit challenging (depending on your room)
  • In-house restaurant serving Filipino breakfast and local favorites
  • 24-hour front desk with knowledgeable staff
  • Clean, well-maintained bathrooms – fresh towels and basic toiletries provided

Our stay included free breakfast, with classic Filipino options like scrambled eggs, beef tapa, tocino, fish, and garlic rice, plus fruits and cereals on the side. It was just the right spread for a hearty breakfast. I didn’t plan on eating that morning, but the food looked too good to pass up.

Places to Visit in Davao near Casa Leticia Boutique Hotel

Casa Leticia Boutique Hotel is just right across the People’s Park which is a popular public park in the heart of Davao City, known for its lush greenery, cultural sculptures, and relaxing atmosphere. We would have wanted to re-create our old photos from the park but we just didn’t have time and chose to stay in our room. It would also be nice to go on an early jog around the park.

The hotel is just walking distance to Durian Street food strip, restaurants and cafes. It is also a short wallk to many churches, and has easy access to malls like Victoria Plaza Mall and Gaisano Mall.

Staying in this area puts you within walking distance or a short tricycle ride from most top attractions. For budget-conscious travelers and those without a rental car, this is the most practical base.

Practical Tips for Staying in Davao: What No One Tells You

Here are insider tips for your next travel to Davao:

  1. Durian etiquette in hotels: Many hotels in Davao (including some stricter ones) have policies about bringing durian inside. Casa Leticia’s staff can guide you on this – and point you to the best spots nearby to enjoy it guilt-free.
  2. Habal-habal vs. Grab: Davao has both motorcycle taxis (habal-habal) and Grab (ridesharing). From Casa Leticia’s location, many attractions are reachable by a short tricycle ride or even on foot.
  3. Best time to visit People’s Park: Early mornings (6:00 AM to 8:00 AM) locals exercise, vendors set up, and the park is peaceful. Being a 5-minute walk away makes this easy.
  4. Currency and ATMs: There are ATMs and money changers close to People’s Park and along nearby streets. Your hotel’s front desk can direct you to the safest and most reliable ones.
  5. Safety in Davao: Davao consistently ranks as one of the Philippines’ safest cities. That said, standard urban common sense applies – keep valuables secured and be aware of your surroundings at night.

If you’re visiting Davao and you want to be close to the action without overspending, Casa Leticia Boutique Hotel near People’s Park is one of the smartest choices you can make. It combines genuine warmth, strategic location, and honest value. I enjoyed my stay and will definetly go back to explore more of Davao.
