Cafe Gervacios | A Must-Visit Coffee Shop in Davao City

April 30, 2026

Visiting coffee shops is always part of my itinerary – whether I’m traveling locally or abroad. During our recent trip to Davao City, I was pleasantly surprised to discover Cafe Gervacios. It’s a cozy café with European 1950’s aesthetics and pastries that remind me of Japan. The cafe sets the mood, and it definitely ticks the box for being Instagram-worthy, with good food selection

During our visit, we learned that Cafe Gervacios is not new in the food scene, it was previously known as Gervacios Bakery, which had three branches across the city. The name pays tribute to its founder, Gervacios Valencia Ramirez. While the family heritage is rooted in Davao, their flavors and culinary craftsmanship are recognized on a global scale.

What I appreciate most about family-owned restaurants is the warmth and passion woven into every corner, evident not only in the atmosphere but also in the service and the way the staff are treated. They are closed on Tuesdays to make sure that they have time to rest and reset – and ensure to only serve the best quality products and service.

What to Order at Cafe Gervacios

I loved everything we were served – from the food to the drinks and desserts.

Cheeseburger Php 398 – classic, juicy beef, melty cheese, soft bun, and just the right amount of sauce. Love the fries on the side!

Gerry’s Longganisa Toast Php 348 – an interesting take on Longganisa served Eggs Benedict – style. I enjoyed it and would order again!

Green Goddess Quinoa Salad Php 568 – light, refreshing mix of fluffy quinoa, crisp greens, and fresh herbs, all tossed in dressing.

Salted Caramel Latte Php 170 – I ordered Iced Salted Caramel Latte which I find indulgent and comforting, I just wish it has more caffeine kick.

Ube Matcha Php 238 – it combines two distinct profiles: ube, a Filipino purple yam known for its creamy, nutty sweetness with hints of vanilla, and matcha, a finely ground Japanese green tea with a deep, grassy, slightly bitter taste. It gives a visually striking, flavor-layered blend

Tiramisu Croissant Php 268 – this is probably my favorite pastry as a fan of Tiramisu. It is golden, flaky, and crisp on the outside, with soft, airy layers inside and luscious mascarpone cream that’s light yet velvety – indulgent but not sweet.

Mocha Caramel Latte Cake Php 268 – two of my favorite flavors combined – mocha and caramel! It is moist and silky, and truly indulgent with balanced flavor.

Matchagatoo Php 255 – if you love the classic Affogatto, and would love to try and experiment with Matcha, this is another good choice.

Le Pettit Durian Php 265 – Cafe Gervacious’ signature cake that surprisingly didn’t leave a strong Durian taste, but an indulgent flavor that would make you crave for more. I love the different textures, and a hint of Durian. Cafe Gervacios describes it as “layers of crunchy praline feuilletine base, soft hazelnut dacquoise, creamy dark belgian chocolate ganache, and a light durian milk chocolate chantilly – a harmonious blend of texture and flavor”.

If you’re exploring Davao, Cafe Gervacios is one of those spots that’s easy to add to your itinerary – it is just walking distance from the People’s Park, and strategically located along C.M. Recto in Davao. They serve the best pastries, with intimate corners to lounge in. This is a coffee shop that is so easy to fall in love with.
