Maginhawa Food Trip Part 3: Homies Fried Chicken

December 9, 2014

Everyone loves Fried Chicken! Our lunch stop for the Maginhawa Food Crawl with Food Panda is the very homey, Homies!

Just a quick recap, we had our breakfast at Katz Diner and AM Snack at Casa Quesadilla. We only had a few minutes break and we were on for the next meal – lunch at Homies!

Homies which originally started as a Fried Chicken Delivery business opened its doors to its loyal customers. Thank you to foodies and first time entrepreneurs Jerico Littaua and Hagen Topacio we got to enjoy the best fried chicken in Maginhawa.
I was telling my friends I would just take pictures and taste some food – but Homies served us really inviting dishes.. I had to grab a chair and enjoy the meal!

A true hole-in-a-wall experience at Homies!

Homies provides an unpretentious ambiance. There are plastic tables, wooden stools and simple walls decorated with interesting pictures and paintings. Some of them, I find a little disturbing – but you just have to see the humor in it. There is also a dedicated board where guests can leave notes for Homies – next to it is the Homies Menu.

Here’s what we have for you..
Homies Whole Fried Chicken Php 300
What makes Homies fried chicken special? It is not overly breaded but it is crispy – and the meat is flavorful and tasty. Have I mentioned how honey sweet it smelled? It is deliciously enticing!
We also love the Tia Delia’s Lumpia
Chicken Terriyaki Php 130
Pork Menudo Php 150 is a bit sweet for my taste, but equally good because it has less liver meat (there was not a hint of it actually..!)
Chili Con Carne Php 150 is also surprisingly good! A great bowl of Mexican treat at very affordable price!
For those who want light snacks, there’s Chili Hotdog Php 90 and Meatball Spaghetti Php 150

In case I missed to mention somewhere in this post, Homies offers unlimited rice! You simply squeeze these buddies and they will “quack” like a duck!
Craving for Homies? You can have that whole Homies Fried Chicken delivered at your home! Simply download the Food Panda app via iOS, or Google Play (also works with Windows). You may also order from Homies online via https://www.foodpanda.ph/. You may pay via credit card or cash-on-delivery. Delivery service depends on the restaurant (it could be as low as Php 30 or 10% of the total amount of items ordered)

Too bad, unlimited rice doesn’t apply with deliveries.. 🙂
