Henann Lagoon Resort Hotel in Boracay

Sometimes, all I need is a good staycation in a hotel to help me relax and recharge my energy. I have been dreaming of this – simple staycation in a hotel, away from the busy city life and far from distractions.

Henann Lagoon Resort in Boracay brought me more than relaxing nights. A summer escapade was made luxurious with a beautiful room (with a view) and scrumptious food offerings from different restaurant outlets of the hotel chain (more foodporn.. keep reading).

An hour ride from Manila to Kalibo, and a two-hour drive from Kalibo to Caticlan was made comfortable via a service coaster provided by Henann Group of Resorts.

Henann Group of Resorts has a designated holding area in Caticlan where guests are welcomed with shell necklace and refreshments. Wow, I have never experienced something like this the first time I went to Boracay.

The Henann Group of Resorts was previously called Boracay Regency Group – now handling luxury establishments in Boracay Island, Philippines. Under its wing are Regency Beach Resort and Spa, the Henann Lagoon Resort and the Henann Garden Resort. Opening this May 2015 is the Henann Resort Alona Beach in Bohol. Exciting!

The boat ride was a quick 7-minute ride, and it was another quick driver to the Henann Lagoon Resort. When we arrived, we were welcomed with refreshing drinks and a great view of the pool from the Lagoon Cafe where buffet lunch was also waiting for us. As expected, the group took their cameras and phones for quick snap shots.

I was not really feeling hungry when we arrived, my eyes were actually feasting on the view. My friend and I stayed a little while in the pool side, and enjoyed the green lush view and the sight of blue transcending the sky and pool. I was thinking, I could stay here and forget about the beach.

Henann Lagoon Resort Boracay Room

We were escorted in our room at the level floor. We got a Deluxe Room with 1 Queen Size Bed and 1 Single Bed. Each room has veranda over-looking the pool which is one of the biggest swimming pools in the island measuring 1,200 sq m.

The room is equipped with safety deposit box, mini-ref (but no mini bar inclusions), water heater for coffee, complimentary coffee and tea.

I love the comfort room because the toilet bowl comes with bidet. I hate luxurious hotels with no bidet included on the toilets.

The Henann Lagoon Resort does know how to make us feel special! We received gifts wrapped and placed on our beds (it is a water-proof phone case that is very useful for our rounds in the island), and a plate of fruits! I initially missed the note that was included in the plate, and I had to take a second look to read everything correctly – they printed each blogger and media guest’s site logo! They perfectly got my “ruthilicious” font (was kind of hoping they picked my logo legs too!) 😉

Never mind the welcome note, because the Henann Lagoon Team ensured that our stay was comfortable, safe and relaxing. We even had a quick tour of the hotel!

Gym Facilities

In the gazillion times I stayed in a hotel, I haven’t really used the gym and fitness center. Well, I did try the weighing scale 🙂 The Gym and Fitness Center is fully air-conditioned which is accessible to all hotel guests.

Premiere Room with Access to the Pool

The rooms are available in one (1) king-size or one (1) queen-size and one (1) single-size bed configuration. It has everything that a standard room has + the direct access to the pool which is really convenient for night swimming.

Another great feature of this room is the shower and bathtub glass partition which gives a nice view of the pool and room (perfect for watching TV). Don’t worry guys, you can always roll down the blinds if you need private time inside the toilet.

Deluxe with Connecting Rooms

The Deluxe Room with Connecting Rooms is perfect for groups. It has double sink and spacious washroom. There is also an emergency exit at the back door in case of emergency 🙂

Grand Room

I love this fancy room because of the grand shower room and bathtub! I am seriously not leaving the room with these facilities. It has a great view of the room with fine outdoor dinette. It even has JBL radio-clock with i-Pod dock.

Grand Room with Pool Access

The Grand Room is situated in the middle most part of the hotel building near the Sunken Pool Bar. The room gives access to the pool with outdoor dinette and sun lounger – you can forget about the beach when you stay in this room. It is perfect for night parties and fun times with friends.

Of course, our group loved the bathroom and bathtub which has elegant folding door.

Executive Suite

For those who need to accommodate more people and host parties, guests can take the Executive Suite located at the topmost floor. It has a separate room, dining area, bar and a separate powder room for guests.

The Henann Lagoon Resort is a hotel for different types of travelers – families, friends, lovers or simply even those who wish to relax – like me who was nursing a very ‘difficult visitor”. I enjoyed my stay in the hotel just watching movies and the view of the pool is really relaxing. Even if the Henann Lagoon Resort is not a beach-front hotel, getting to the beach and other Henann Resort properties is easy and convenient because of the van service and buggy rides available for the guests.

What I love about Henann Lagoon Resort Hotel?

♥ Staff is really friendly and acommodating
♥ The mini-shop is open until 12 midnight and basically has everything a traveler needs – from napkins to medicines, and island souvenirs!
♥ The buggy ride is always ready when we need it.
♥ The swimming pool is really nice and big!
♥ Rooms are spacious and well-maintained
♥ The washroom has bidet spray!
♥ I love the French Toast in the breakfast buffet (more on that on the next post!) 🙂

What can be improved?
I wish the wifi connection is part of the room rate. Guests need to purchase this service separately.
