Weekend in Macampao Beach and Leisure Farm Resort in Cabangan, Zambales

Weekend at Macampao Beach Resort in Cabangan, Zambales

Travel | Macampao Beach Resort in Cabangan, Zambales

When they say that salt can cure anything, we took it too seriously. We traveled from Manila to Zambales and greeted the waves of West Philippine Sea.

Not that we are healing a broken heart or bruised ego, it was rather a spontaneous trip and an escape from the crazy life in Manila.

Nine wanderers and bulky baggage and backpacks (I could no longer count!), add the loots from Friday events that we covered – we all fit ourselves in 2 Ford Ecosport cars and traveled at 10:00 in the evening up North.

Ford EcoSport

The Ford Ecosport has been my home the whole day of Friday with Rodel. We had a whole day of adventure with it before we met up with the gang. I love that it is comfortable, spacious and perfect for those with long legs (like us!). We met up with the rest of the group at Starbucks in Marilao Gas Station for a quick coffee fix. It was time to change drivers and we got Duane manning the wheels. His driving skills kept us awake the whole ride with blind curves that kept us more alert than ever joining the beat of Spotify playlists. We took the longer road while the other car took SCTEX.

Not distracting

We found home at Macampao Beach Resort. You have to pay attention to the Waze instructions as the place is a little tricky to locate. It is like a hidden gem.  It was 4 in the morning and the sky was still dark but I could see the beauty of the place.

Macampao Beach Resort Packages | Day Tour and Overnight Stay

Day Tour

Php 1,000 /pax (Adults)
Php 500 (kids 3-12 years old)
Inclusive of access to the place and amenities from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm with lunch and snacks included.

Overnight Stay

I would suggest that groups go for the overnight stay to fully experience the place. You can book a Cabana for Php 2,800 for 2 pax; or book Hilid Salamin for Php 12,800 for 4 pax. The package includes 3 meals, 1 snack and free flowing drinks, including free use of amenities.

Macampao Beach Resort and Leisure Farm used to be a family rest house which soon opened its doors to guests. It is a paradise and sanctuary, not just for the visiting travelers but for the fruit-bearing trees, pond and private beach that is housed in the property.

We stayed at Hilid Salamin. It has 4 air-conditioned rooms wherein 2 rooms share an adjoining toilet and bath. Our rooms are facing the beach and all rooms are surrounded with lush greens. All rooms have a good view of pine trees, beach and mountains. The rooms have two single beds or 1 queen size per request.

It is the kind of room where you would wish for a human blanket. :p

In the morning, I woke up with a morning breeze. Breakfast was already waiting for us. Macampao practices farm-to-table practice where most of the food and ingredients are harvested from the farm – from freshly harvested local vegetables,  locally produced pink and purple rice, and fish like Tilapia, Bangus and Kitang which are caught from the resort’s fish pond.

Food is included in our stay and we didn’t get a chance to feel HANGRY.
We got fresh food prepared every meal. We even got native snacks for merienda.

We spent most of the time in the beach. The best part is playing and running away from the big waves of West Philippine Sea (or South China Sea).

As if playing with the waves is not a very physical activity, you can try activities like Volleyball, Billiards, Frisbee,  or traditional games like Sungka.

You can also participate in water activities like Kayaking, Fishing, Bamboo Water Rafting and Baby Sea Turtle Releasing.

Staying salty with Chippy.
But I make sure I drowned  myself with water.
My new favorite bottled water brand – Sip @sippurifiedwater

Sip undergoes 6 filtration process which first starts from natural filtration of volcanic rocks near Mt. Makiling where the plant is located.

We only stayed overnight and I would really want to explore and just stay at the place. I love that we can enjoy the beach without taking the boat. The beach is just literally right at the back of the resort/rest house. If you are staying for more than a day, you can check out the other activities that you can do in Zambales here.

I love the sweet escape and how pampered we were during our stay. The place is so romantic, private and not crowded. It was a good weekend to disconnect from my world (and social media). The resort provides FREE WIFI access but connection is intermittent at times. A good disconection from the usual.  It is a perfect place for couple (for honeymoon) who would want to have private time, and friends who wish to try new activities.

Food is really good (farm-to-table) and guaranteed fresh! The staff is really courteous and accommodating to our requests, too.

The beach appears to be white but it is more of sandy with big chunk of salt (which is perfect for scrubbing :D). Waves are really big and strong – I wouldn’t recommend swimming if you can’t swim in the open sea and better wear a bikini/rash guard that is suited for big waves 😉

I don’t normally want to visit the same place I have been to before,
but Macampao Beach Resort is an exception.
