First Impressions: Honor Releases 3 New Smartphones

May 13, 2015
It is with great honor that upstart brand Honor releases 3 new smartphones – Honor 6 Plus, Honor 4C and Honor 4X at Treehouse Tavern in A. Venue, Makati.

We are the brave ones who witnessed and experienced the new smartphones’ features before they are released in the market.

“We are very proud to bring to the local market three smartphones that respect the young digital Filipino. True to our “Honor” brand, these devices recognize the brave ones who can make bold decisions, go against the trend and know what they really want and need in a phone—high-end specifications, usable features, and an honorable price, said Nino Carandang, Honor Business Unit Manager.

HONOR 6 PLUS: FLAGSHIP EXPERIENCE WITHOUT THE HEFTY PRICE TAG

I have to be honest that I am totally impressed with the Honor 6 Plus functionality especially the camera. The Honor 6 Plus is the first smartphone in the Honor series to feature a parallel dual-camera that offers the ability to first CAPTURE an image, then FOCUS on a key area, and then ADJUST the light exposure.
The Honor 6 Plus Eagle-Eye Camera imitates the structure of an eagle eye with an optimized 2.5 image processor engine The Parallel dual-camera uses “Binocular Vision” data, to quickly calculate focus distance and capture image while the  3IE Algorithmic Engine imitates a brain, using “Depth Perception” to determine and record a detailed, in-depth photograph .
With the Honor 6 Plus’ upgraded low light shooting ability, prevents blurred night images as the dual lens offers double the amount of light captured and double the light sensitivity of a single lens, reducing image noise and making night photos appear clearer, brighter, and in better detail. We have seen the actual photos taken with Honor 6 Plus and I was blown away! It is like telling us we can forget about our cameras and only carry Honor 6 Plus. Selfies won’t be the same again with the impressive 8MP Front Camera.
Honor 6 Plus also uses two different cores to run the beastly smartphone – there is Big Core for hardcore gaming, and Small Core for processes like social media, calling and texting – such allows the smartphone to conserve its battery and processing. For the first time I understood a smartphone language 🙂
I have to admit that my smartphone faith was being shaken. Don’t judge me, I am only human. Here are the the specifications of Honor 6 Plus for all you who understand the language:

Can you imagine me slightly salivating over the new phone? I felt so unfaithful to the brand I always love, but hey, I am only human and Honor does know how to play with my fantasies. I was hoping to take home the Honor 6 Plus (I aimed high!) or Honor 4X.
I hate surprises.. but sometimes I love them. The event host, KC Montero asked the first 40 guests to pick a box from the big box on stage. It pays to be an early bird, I told you!
When they asked us to open the box, all I got was the note which says “Let’s try again”.
While everyone else got “Powerbank”, “Gift Certificates”.
I felt so unlucky. Both in Love Life and Raffles. Haha
Well, surprise, surprise! All those who received “Let’s try again” were given the chance to try again.
I am brave, I told KC. One by one he asked the “unlucky” ones questions about the new Honor products. I took down notes, I was feeling confident but it felt like a pageant standing infront of the stage.
When it was my turn.. can you guess if I won? Yes, of course!
I got to take home a brand new Honor 4X! Woot!
Review will be up soon. I promise 🙂

The Honor 6 Plus priced at PhP 17,490.00. The Honor 4X and the 4C is now available at Php 8,290.00 and PhP 6,390.00 beginning May 12.
