Kanguru Food Delivery Service + Queen of Bollywood Delivery

April 29, 2016

Since mom is recovering and we got tired of eating the usual food (and fast food) takeaways and deliveries, I decided to try the Kanguru’s Food Delivery Service and ordered Indian Food from Queen of Bollywood.

I learned about Kanguru a few months ago. Kanguru is a new food delivery service app which has food establishment partners in Mandaluyong and Makati. I tried using the service at home (Manila) but app said that there’s no partner restaurant in my home area within that specific radius. Since we are staying in a hospital, I decided to try the app – and voila, it presented me with list of restaurants that deliver to the area.
How to Order Food via Kanguru
  1. I just opened the app and entered the exact address of location/preferred delivery address.
  2. I clicked on the specific restaurant and by browsing left and right, I can check the menu.
  3. I just simply click on the item to select quantity, then I click “Add to Pouch”.
  4. Once I was ready to check out, I just click on Submit orders.
  5. I love that aside from paying via Cash on Delivery, Kanguru accepts payment via Credit Card and Paypal.

I processed the order via Paypal (because I always feel secured via Paypal) and I also wanted to test the service. It prompted me to the Paypal Log In page and from there I was able to complete my order.
Upon order completion, I received a text message and email (via my registered email address) that the order has been received.
Delivery time is from 45 to 1 hour. I received an advise from Nurse Station that food delivery was waiting for me.
Kanguru Delivery Guide was waiting. He was even game to pose for a photo 🙂

I also received update via SMS that the delivery was already at the lobby.

.. and so last night, I had Indian food for dinner. 🙂

What I love about Kanguru?
  • ❤ The variety of partner restaurants – they are not the usual restaurants and fast food chains.
  • ❤ Customers can send reviews of the food and service via the app. It would help you choose which restaurants to try. I was swayed with the reviews actually. Haha
  • ❤ I love the fun icon and notes whenever the app is loading or “thinking” like “Mixing Salad” “Grinding Meat”. I find it too cute!
  • ❤ I love that Kanguru accepts different payment modes – cash, credit card and even Paypal.
  • ❤ The communication update is excellent but the service is only using a standard mobile phone number 🙂
  • ❤ It seems that there’s no minimim delivery amount but there is a fixed Php 79 delivery fee.
What I don’t like about Kanguru?
I wish the service would expand soon in areas like Manila. The first time I tried downloading the app and trying the service,  I was disappointed when it says there are no nearby partner restaurants.

I am just glad to finally able to try Kanguru and got to taste Queen of Bollywood without leaving the hospital 🙂
