How would you describe a cafe with all the elements that you need for a perfect flatlay and serves food in bursting flavors?
I’ll make it simple for you guys, I found an instagrammable book cafe in Imus Cavite that is worth a visit – Buku Buku Kafe.
How I ended up in Cavite for a supposedly “secret dinner” with blogger friends? Well, it started with an invitation for a “dinner in Alabang”. We were picked up by a service that drove us to “supposedly Alabang” until they say we were heading to Cavite. What?
I felt that I was kidnapped! Haha. It took another 30 minutes from Alabang until we reached The District Mall (Ayala) in Cavite and we were welcomed to Buku Buku Kafe.
I was live on periscope when I arrived and my viewers just got curious with the cafe so I just continued broadcasting. Every inch and corner of the cafe caught my eye as I looked at the view from my phone’s screen.
When I ended my broadcast, it was time to take photos! I felt that I no longer need to position anything at the perfect angle or curate a perfect flatlay for food… simply because, every inch and corner is perfect in Buku Buku Kafe.
Ana and I were just telling each other that this is the kind of coffee shop that we want to own.
The geometric pieces and industrial design work perfectly together.
As it is a book cafe, you can borrow books while at the cafe.
For starters, there’s Lord Green. A bowl of fancy kamote fries, bread and crackers with malunggay cheese dip! It is everyone’s favorite that night!
(I hate that I am craving for Buku Buku Kafe’s offering now!)
I am dreaming of Fruits and Nuts. Every spoonful of this salad is like having your favorite breakfast cereal except that you got the real deal of fresh fruits and nuts. There’s a generous serving of fruits in the bowl. Yum!
Romi Lamen for noodle lovers. I am not a fan of lomi but this one is a bomb! An innovative play on ramen and lomi (thus, the name). It has the perfect balance of flavors in a broth. Perfect for cool weather or just when you are craving for some noodle-lovin.
Now came my favorites – pasta!
I cannot choose just one that I truly like.
There’s Pesto Bicolano. Although I am not a fan of Pesto, I did enjoy this flavorful treat in penne pasta.
For meat-lovers out there, go for the Buk Burger. Hefty burger patty with bacon, cheese and lots of flavors served with kamote fries.
They served the Tapsilog last – and it was love at first taste for me! The meat is tender and flavored like beef steak. Seriously craving for some NOW.
The dishes are best enjoyed with refreshing drinks of different colors and taste. I love how Buku Buku Kafe infuse different flavors of teas and juices to create such interesting concoctions.
What is a cafe without coffee? Well, Buku Buku Kafe serves favorites like brewed coffee, latte, espresso and cappuccino. I passed on a cup, but I said yes to this divine dessert!
Truly, Buku Buku Kafe brings together art and flavor. Independent artists also hold performances and crafting workshops in the venue.
Buku Buku Kafe is officially opening on May 12th!
Everyone is invited! Please come!
