Cinema 7 and 8 


My friend and I were just having a conversation about the movies we missed at the theater and movies we choose to only watch in the comforts of our home. 

We always want comfort and quality whenever we see a movie – quality in terms of the whole movie experience. Oftentimes, a good movie could be ruined by a not-so-good theater experience. 

SM Malls invited us to experience the new SM Mall of Asia Cinema 8 through a screening of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. 

The new cinema 7 and 8 of the SM Mall of Asia are located near the sea side. Each cinema has 153 seats and is both equipped with a top-of-the-line digital cinema projector system, Christie CP 2215, and Dolby 7.1 surround sound technology.

I love the reclining chairs which is spacious and comfortable. The best part is – there’s so much leg room that I can stretch my legs and I never felt trapped. Even if you are seating in the middle, you can freely get up and go to the restroom. 

There’s also a Lounge Area where movie-goers can chill while waiting for their movie time slot. The Grub Central is just right next to the ticket booth where you can buy the usual favorite snacks – popcorn, corndogs and drinks. 

It is one of the most comfortable movie experiences I had – too comfortable that I was transported to la-la-land. Yup, I fell asleep in the middle of the movie 😀 I blame the chilly theater temperature. Bring a jacket or a human blanket when watching a movie!
