Hope in a Shirt | Shirt Made from 100% Recycled Bottles | Artwork by Solenn Heussaff

This may sound  unusual, but an unusual idea resulted to building more classrooms and helping with waste management. Ever heard of a shirt made of 100% recycled plastic bottles?

Hope in a Bottle‘s Nanette Medved (I always know her as Darna) is out once again to save the world and collaborated with (my girl crush!!!) Solenn Heussaff to come up with Hope in a Shirt.

The story started last year, when founder and President Nanette Medved gifted her good friends with shirts that are made with 100% recycled bottles. Her friends love it who in turn told their friends about it (I love it and I am now sharing about it!).

When Nanette approached Solenn with the idea of creating designs for an exclusive Hope in a Shirt collection, she loved it: not only would she be supporting a sustainable lifestyle; she’d also be investing her talents in the future of Filipino kids, by whom her art is inspired in the first place.
Solenn’s beautiful artwork was transformed into high quality textile prints with the help of Globis, Inc. It is as if Solenn handpainted on each shirt!

Each shirt is made with 11 recycled bottles and there are only 200 pieces of it! Hope in a Shirt can only be bought exclusively through Hope-branded vending machines – an idea inspired by New York Fashion Week.  The result is a disruptive and desirable product that celebrates art, innovative sustainability, and a worthwhile cause.

HOPE vendo will pop up in 3 surprise locations, for only 2 to 3 days each. After which, the shirts would be available online via Zalora. Keep following to get more updates!

PS. Please continue supporting Hope in a Bottle! I always buy from the local Starbucks store. Water is life for me – and by simply buying, I am helping in building more classrooms. As a social enterprise, Hope in a Bottle continues to devote 100% of the profits to the cause. From the sales of bottled water, Hope in a Bottle has already built 37 classrooms. Keep on gulping and building more!
