Myanmar Hotel | Novotel Yangon Max Review
Our Myanmar travel was filled with planned feat and unexpected adventures - from sleeping in a night bus, to trying out ebike and walking around temples barefoot. When we were finalizing our schedule and plotting where we would be sleeping, we knew we needed a hotel where we can relax and recharge in between our travel from Yangon to Bagan and back.
We found home in Novotel Yangon Max. It is a 5-star hotel in Yangon which is a 25-minute drive from Yangon International Airport.

**Novotel Yangon Max sponsored our stay in Yangon. My write-up and review are based on personal experience during my stay.
We arrived in the hotel as if arriving in a relatives house - they took care of our luggage, checked us in earlier and welcomed us with cold drinks. Everyone seemed too pleasant to see us - two girls who traveled more than 12 hours from Manila to Yangon. I was not at my best state but they made such a great impression.
I felt so young in the crowd of guests coming in and out of the hotel - they are all in suit - men carrying brief case and women in high heels. I later on found out that most of the guests in Novotel Yangon Max are traveling for business. I felt like a backpacking kid in my Herschel bag and Sperry shoes.
We went straight to our room at the Executive Floor. All I wanted was a quick shower and a good meal. I felt that my energy was dropping to level 2 - but excitement rushed in as soon as we entered room 1424!!

There is the usual welcome fruits and dessert plate and ...
... a gold pot! Well, not really gold - but a gold fish!!! We called it fishie!
It was just so cool to have a living creature inside the room waiting for our arrival. I thought it was the sweetest thing! Somehow, I felt so relaxed just watching and teasing it.
Our room is spacious, modern yet has the usual amenities that every traveler needs. Little details that you think didn't matter unless you already need it - like having an outlet next to your bed, bidet in the toilet and bigger mug for your morning coffee before breakfast. I am happy that Novotel got it all covered.
Novotel Myanmar Max Room Tour
Here's a quick room tour and little details that I love about our room:
High bed and comfortable soft pillows
Bedside Lamp and Outlets for charging the phones. Love!
Modern yet minimalist design
I love the couch where Ana and I usually chill (instead on our bed) when we haven't taken a shower yet :p
Room with a view!
Hello Yangon!
Well-designed room
Chips and Snacks at the Mini Bar
I love that there is a mug (and not just tea set) for my morning coffee :)
Tea Selections and 3-in-1 coffee sachets
Espresso capsules for those who want a stronger coffee in the morning. Yes, there is an espresso machine!
Robes and hangers
Safety deposit box for keeping your local currency and passport
Sewing Kit! You wouldn't know when you need it!
Flat Iron and Board!
I remember one of the hotels I stayed in in Barcelona, there is no pressing iron (just when I didn't pressed my clothes before the trip!)
Behind me is the door to the bathroom
It looks like a cabinet that blends in the wall
The usual toiletries
Fresh clean towels everyday
I love that Novotel Yangon Max supports Fair Trade
(products are 100% guilt-free - securing the rights of producers and workers).
After our lunch at Feel Restaurant (as recommended by Novotel Team), we freshened up and joined the hotel tour.
Part of me doesn't want to go to Bagan or leave Novotel. There is so much to do inside the hotel :p
Novotel Yangon Max Facilities:
4 restaurants serving International and Asian cuisines and 5 bars in the hotel

I looooove the really high ceiling and chandeliers!
We love the sunset by the pool
I love the pool area where Ana and I had a dip on our last night.
It is big enough to accommodate even those who are doing practice laps.
Sports Center and Tennis Court
Long-staying guests can join the different fitness classes.
Would love to try the spa but we didn't have enough time :(
I love the details
Every inch and corner of Novotel Yangon Max is instagrammable!
Play Area for kids
Aside from Grab and Uber, guests can also book a taxi if they don't have an app installed in their phones.
The cafe where they serve buffet breakfast (will post more photos on a separate blog post)
The GOURMET BAR that serves international cuisines from Italian pasta, American burgers or Spanish tapas. The interior showcases artists' paintings.
LE CELLIER,WINE BAR & RESTAURANT
There is a security door leading to our rooms which I greatly appreciate because our floor also houses the LE CELLIER,WINE BAR & RESTAURANT
My favorite place which is located at the Executive Floor!
The place is so fancy with nice views. The staff would always welcome me with a smile - even if the bar is closed - they would allow me to stay in the terrace to have my me-time :)
Don't waste the view and go with a date or someone who could take a perfect photo of you :)
Inside the Wine Chiller :D
They treated us to a fine wine before our travel to Bagan.
Ah, finally, people not in suit :D
If you feel that the French Bar is too fancy, head to Time Out, Sports Bar where you can enjoy beer and games.
Tired but still need to smile :D
RuNagon :D
The thought of sleeping in a comfortable bed tucked under the sheets inside the secured room completes the definition of a perfect travel but we went to Myanmar for a little adventure. At 7:30 PM, we left Novotel Yangon Max to bus station going to Bagan.
The Novotel Yangon Max concierge gladly arranged our VIP Bus Tickets upon knowing that we were heading to Bagan on that night.
#RuNagon - follow our hashtag in social media and Instagram ;)
They lodged our baggage and bags to the Uber Car and sent us love that we brought to the temples.
... to be continued.
