DIY or Packaged Tours + Klook Travel Fest 2018

DIY or Packaged Tours + Klook Travel Fest 2018
One of the things I love about traveling is the planning stage – that includes searching for the best flights, accommodation, and places to see and things to experience. Most of our travels are DIY because it gives us time to plot the schedule and insert church duties in between (the most important thing!).

I haven’t experienced booking group tours, where in a certain travel agency would arrange all the details of your travel from flight to accommodation and itinerary. I think it limits us to only seeing a portion of a place. For some people it works, but for me I still want to enjoy and really experience the destination.
However, there are instances when a group tour is a life-saver especially when the destination or attraction is too far, or when you just have one free schedule on your travel itinerary. That was when I fell in love with Klook.

Klook is an online site where you can book and join tours for one day trips (or depending on packages or your free time) to different attractions, museums and experiences. It is very convenient to use and avail as you only need to choose your preferred destination/tour and select the date, and voila, you are set to explore. I love that it gives us a feeling of being “pampered” without the worry of getting lost in a foreign place. The bus usually picks us up at our hotel (or nearest hotel) and drop us off after the tour. And we get to enjoy the view (or sleep) en route to our destination without the worry of missing our stop.

DIY vs Packaged Tours:
DIY
It gives you more time to explore the place (and take many photos!)
DIY leads to discovery of new places.
It is fun and exciting!
You explore at your own phase.
Packaged Tours
More convenient and safe.
You can get to far destinations without worries.
You get best deals and destinations at the right price
You get to meet new friends!
During our travel in Taiwan, we thought of booking a packaged tour going to Yehliu; however, the slots had been sold out. We had to DIY:

Here are some of the photos of our tours that we booked from Klook.
We booked a two-day trip to Meteora and spent an evening in Kalambaka. The destination is 8-hour drive from Athens and would involve different transportation transfers.

The tour that we booked via Klook was very convenient and informative.

We had a free time after the New Year, so we decided to book a day-tour cruise to Hydra, Poros and Aegina Islands.
