I rarely go out with an earphone. I always want to enjoy the moment, my surroundings and the people I am with. I only take out my earphones during long drives and travels (when I want my quiet time). Or when I want my me-time and my Netflix.
Here’s my current favorite travel earphones: JBL Live 200BT. It is no secret that JBL is my favorite speaker brand. You might have probably seen a lot of cameos of JBL in my posts and blogs.
Recently, Harman International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. focused on connected technologies for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets has unveiled its new series of earphones and speakers equipped with Google Assistant.
Providing more options for Filipino audiophiles, Harman International Philippines Rep Office has brought in the local market the JBL Live Series, Tune Series, Under Armour Series, Endurance Peak, and speaker series — all carrying the JBL® Signature Sound and each designed to fit every type of music lover.
Before I share my quick review about JBL Live 200BT, here are some information about the new lines and feature of new JBL products:
JBL Live Series
The JBL Live Series is comprised of is comprised of the JBL Live 400BT, JBL Live 500BT, JBL Live 650BTNC, Live 100, and the Live 200BT.
Key features for JBL Live 400BT and JBL Live 500BT are Ambient Aware technology allowing users to be aware of surroundings, and the TalkThru feature which allows users to talk to other people without removing the headphones.
While JBL Live 650BTNC has Google Assistant functionality. I personally use and love Google Assistant so this is something that I am excited about. It has 30 hours battery life, and can fast charge for 15 minutes (giving 2 hours playtime).
For users who’d prefer to have in-ear earphones, the JBL Live series also has the JBL Live 100 and the JBL Live 200BT.
JBL Tune Series
The JBL Tune Series is an interesting series that comes in yummy colors of black, blue, pink, and white.
The JBL Tune 500, while it’s the only model of the Tune Series that is wired, its cables are made tangle-free to assure that users can still freely move with the help of its lightweight and foldable design. It comes with Google Assistant accessible through the JBL Tune 500’s one-button remote and microphone.
Joining JBL’s array of noise-cancelling headphones is the JBL Tune 600BTNC which comes with 12 hours of battery life with its Active Noise-Cancelling feature on, and can be fully-charged in just two hours.
JBL Endurance Peak
JBL ensures that there are stylish earphones and headphones for those who have an active lifestyle.
JBL Endurance Peak can be used under different weather conditions as it comes with an IPX7 waterproof rating. Other than carrying the signature JBL premium sound, the JBL Endurance Peak is made to ergonomically fit the ears with its TwistLock and FlexSoft technologies.
Out of the box, the JBL Endurance Peak comes with a rugged smart charging case with 24 hours of total backup charge, and equates a 10-minute quick charge for 1 hour of music playback. Music control is also made seamless with the JBL Endurance Peak’s touch function.
JBL Under Armour Series
The collaboration between sports-lifestyle brand Under Armour and JBL was first announced in 2016. Since then, the partnership has produced headphones and earphones that embody not only JBL’s expertise in sound and audio but also Under Armour’s trademark design.
This year, JBL Philippines brings in four new models under this lineup including the JBL Under Armour Sports Flex, JBL Under Armour Sports React, JBL Under Armour Sports Pivot, and the JBL Under Armour Sports Wireless Train.
Leading the JBL Under Armour Sports lineup is the JBL Under Armour Sports Wireless Train which
carries the JBL Charge Sound to further intensify users’ workout. It also comes with the Under Armour Fabric Technology so that the earphones can maintain its comfortable form.
It has the UA SuperVent on its outer ear cushions that deliver true breathability with a fast-drying and hand washable removable fabric. In terms of its battery, the JBL Under Armour Sports Wireless Train can play music for 16 hours, and is capable of turning a 5-minute charge to one hour of audio playback. Similar to other JBL earphones, the JBL Under Armour Sports Wireless Train has the TalkThru technology.
The JBL Sports Under Armour Flex has lightweight, flexible neckband carrying four buttons for music control combined with sports flex fit ear tips for complete ergonomics. A special feature of the JBL Under Armour Sports Flex is its RunSafe LED, a safety light feature which keeps users visible at night using three flashing modes.
JBL Under Armour Sports True Wireless Flash offers a truly cord-free music experience. It comes with the Under Armour waterproof technology, and the Sport Flex Fit ear tips for ergonomics and perfect fit, so the earphones don’t fall off even how intensive a workout is. Other notable features of the JBL Under Armour Sports True Wireless Flash include the Bionic Hearing with TalkThru
and AmbientAware technologies. For its battery, the JBL Under Armour Sports True Wireless Flash
comes with a 25-hour battery life, and has a durable aluminum charging case.
JBL Party Box 300
Made to bring loud, energizing sound everywhere you go, the JBL Party Box 300 is a powerful party
speaker with light effects. It comes with a 10,000mAh battery for 18 hours of non-stop music, and can be charged using the 12V DC ports of cars. The JBL Party Box 300 can also be used as power bank to fuel up smartphones and other devices.
JBL Charge 4
A proof of the saying that big things come in small packages, the JBL Charge 4 packs two functions into one portable Bluetooth speaker. Other than playing your favorite tunes wherever you go, the JBL Charge 4 can also be used to fuel up your devices simultaneously while producing tunes, as it comes with 7,500mAh battery which is bigger than its predecessor, the JBL Charge 3. To replenish its battery, the JBL Charge 4 has a USB Type-C port.
Available in wide color options, the JBL Charge 4 comes with a rugged, waterproof design, and has 20 hours of playback time. With JBL Connect+ technology, you can wirelessly link more than 100 JBL Connect+ enabled speakers to amplify the party.
JBL Jr. Pop
An addition to the JBL Jr. headphones under the JBL Kids line, the JBL Jr. Pop delivers fun sound for the little ones. It comes in a rugged, waterproof design in pop, trendy colors which kids can decorate using JBL stickers, plus a built-in multicolor light mode. The JBL Jr. Pop can play music for five hours.
JBL Live 200BT
I am acquianting myself to the JBL Live 200BT which is designed with the contours of the head and neck that allows it to comfortably and securely rest on my nape.
It is sleek in its aluminum finish and has magnetic buds that ensure tangle-free convenience when it is not in use.
I like that I can easily switch from listening to music to taking in calls with its multi-point connection.
The sound/voice quality is clear and loud. I do not need to angle my head to get close to the mic and I can just sit comfortably while taking calls.
The best part, it is fast-charging for 2 hours with battery life of up to 10 hours – perfect for long-haul flights or solo travels.
