Classic Eyelash Extensions from My Lash Salon + Things You Need to Know

Maybe you are curious. I was once curious about eyelash extensions, too.

Although I am not a big makeup girl (I am turning into one, actually – thanks to brands that offer new quality products good for sensitive skin like mine),  I admit that I got addicted to Eyelash Extensions.

The thing about Eyelash Extensions is that they can instantly make you feel glamorous. Every time I look at the mirror, I felt like I am always ready to go out to party – even if I literally just woke up! I am not blessed with natural good lashes, so the eyelash technology is really a blessing! I oftentimes get an Eyelash Extension before a trip – so I do not need to worry about doing eye makeup during travel.

Eyelash Extensions can really change your look – and ways and habits – from the way you take a bath, wash your face, do skincare, and apply makeup.  I have developed these new expensive habits (I say, expensive because they take up my time), after over a year of wearing Eyelash Extensions.

What you need to know about Eyelash Extensions?

There are different types of eyelash extensions and materials used – mostly a combination of human and animal lashes. Depending on the type or style that you want – you can go for natural-looking or dramatic showgirl type. Some of the common types are mink lashes, sable, and fox.

How Eyelash Extensions Are Applied?

The synthetic fibers are carerfully applied one at a time using a formulated lash glue on the natural eyelashes – not on the skin. It can take around 1 to 2 hours – depending on the volume and style that you are going for.

Your eyes would be basically closed the whole sessions – it would help to listen to a podcast or your favorite playlist.

If it is your first time to get an eyelash extension, you can get a patch test to make sure that you are not allergic to the lash glue.

How to Care for Your Eyelash Extensions?

Depending on the type of eyelash extensions that you got, you will have to follow different after-care procedures. The ones I had before need brushing (like normal hair brushing) after taking a shower, while the recent ones I got didn’t need such kind of care.

The basics would be:

you have to avoid getting your lashes wet for 12 to 24 hours
you cannot use oil-based makeup or skin care products
do not put mascara or any eye makeup (trust me, you do not need mascara when you got eyelash extensions!)
you cannot scratch or rub your eyes

How Long Do Eyelash Extensions Last?

Just like a normal eyelash cycle, it can last 6 to 8 weeks. Although it is advisable to visit the eyelash salon after 3 weeks of your session for touch ups. Mine lasted for 2 months – with a few eyelashes still hanging on the 3rd month.

How Much Do Eyelash Extensions Cost?

Eyelash Extensions in the Philippines can go from Php 600 to Php 3,500 depending on the type, material and volume.

My Lash Salon in Ayala Circuit Makati has a comfortable and chic ambiance catering to its girly clients. It has a menu of different services, kind of lashes, and “volume” – each comes at different rates. They can suggest a good customized eyelashes for you, but they still respect and follow the client’s request.
The process took around 2 hours – fairly average for the kind of service as the eyelash technician glues the extensions in each section of the lashes – it is not one piece of extension that is glued on the lashes. She first removed the extensions I had on.
I usually sleep during the process, but for this session, I took a short nap and was conscious of the time (because I needed to post something online at a certain time).
After the session, I even got a free head massage.

I felt like I was ready to go to the party! The eyelash extensions don’t feel heavy for the volume that I got. The Classic Eyelashes are perfect for those who would go to a party or gala-night. They look really dramatic and intense! Far different from the natural-looking ones I had previously tried. It is good to have a good eyelash extension like this for special occasions.

This is how my lashes look after the session

After – Procedure Care
I was advised that I cannot wash or wet the area for 12 hours after the procedure.
Unlike the other eyelash extensions I had, My Lash Salon’s Classic Eyelash Extensions are fixed and don’t need combing. They would remain curled and fancy.

After One Week

My Lash Salon’s Classic Eyelash Extensions give a showgirl feel as it is bold and prominent. It gives an effect the same as that of full mascara. People instantly notice the eyelashes – and the eyes.
A few lashes came off after a week (which is expected), that is why a touch up is recommended after 2 to 3 weeks.

I will be hosting a giveaway so you guys can also try the services at My Lash Salon!
