Lenovo Yoga C740: Sleek, Powerful Laptop for Online Class and Entertainment
If you are looking for the best laptop for online class that you can also use for other things like arts and entertainment, the sleek, ultra light and powerful Lenovo C740 is your best bet.
For someone who has been using laptop and creating content (be it written or video), I basically know what I need in a laptop and what functions or lifestyle one laptop design can cater to. At the first look and glance, I just know that Lenovo C740 is a perfect laptop for online class – offering even more features for those who want to explore new things. Something sleek and pretty to post on your Instagram, too.

Lenovo Yoga C740 Design and Feel
For its price, you will get a really nice, sleek, solid laptop with a fine aluminum finish. It feels smooth to the touch, and light-weight making it travel-friendly.
I like the color that I got, similar to the Champagne Gold Lenovo Yoga 900 I am using. Upon opening, the hinge feels smooth, yet sturdy. It opens to a keyboard panel with the same color. There is a palm rest and Touchpad (which I personally think I would rarely use – because I am more comfortable using a mouse). The Touchpad’s sensitivity works perfectly good – responding well to touch and even the bottom part for right and left click functions.
Feeling the keyboard
The keyboard is comfortable to type in with nice bounce and click sound to it. I do a lot of typing for my blog and content creation so it is important to have a nice keyboard that functions well. It also has back light that you can activate when working on a low light environment.
On the side are the speakers powered by Dolby Atmos that produce a really nice, surround audio. It is clear and decent, that there is no need for me to attach or connect a separate speaker (especially if you are presenting in a small room) – or, in my case, doing live stream and presenting something to my live viewers.
The screen is touch-screen which is something I really like. Personally, I think I could never go back to non-touchscreen laptop. I love the easy pinch and zoom access to check photos and documents.
It yields a very vibrant color – yet the screen feels a little dark that I had to adjust the display brightness higher so I would get the desired display. That is one of the challenges and adjustments I had to make for this new laptop. But the other features are working perfectly fine for my needs.

Always doing this – pinch and zoom

There is also a webcam privacy slider TrueBlock Privacy Shutter that you can instantly switch on and off. No need to stick pretty stickers to ensure your camera won’t capture your image just when you are not ready.
A new laptop feature in this laptop (that was not in my previous one) is the fingerprint scanner. I find it really helpful and convenient to boot or unlock my laptop. It only takes around 2 – 3 seconds, compared to typing a password. Time is essential, indeed.
The Yoga C740 is a multi-mode laptop. You can use it in different ways – from consuming content online, creating art, or entertainment. From a traditional mode, you can transition it into a stand, tent or even tablet – perfect for sketching and drawing.
The following photos show the different modes of Lenovo Yoga C740:

Stand Mode is perfect when working on a recipe or watching videos while you are working something on the kitchen.

Perfect for creating digital art.
Lenovo Yoga C740 Performance and Functions
The Lenovo Yoga C740 is powered with 1.6-GHz Intel Core i5-10210U processor, 8GB of RAM, a 512GB PCIe SSD and an Intel UHD Graphics GPU. For a small laptop and affordable price, it functions really well and smooth. I noticed though that it doesn’t have a separate partition for the Windows Drive (unlike my old Yoga Laptop that has a Drive C and Drive). Nonetheless, it works fast and does the job.
It is perfect for tasks like emailing, browsing, watching Youtube or Netflix, taking online class or even creating documents and presentations.
To really test its performance, I edited a video (with all the files stored in the laptop) and it worked perfectly and rendered faster than I expected.
One of the challenges I encountered in the Lenovo C740 is it has few ports. There is a USB 3.1 Type-A Gen 1 port on the right side next to the power button and USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 ports on the left side., next to the power port and audio jack.
For someone who does a lot of content creation, I always look for laptops with many ports to plug in my external drive, mouse Bluetooth connector, and smartphones. I guess, the challenge for me is to really balance my tasks.
Lenovo Yoga C740 ‘s battery can last up to 13 hours which is perfect for an online class, Netflix-ing, or live streaming.

Yes, the Lenovo C740 is as flexible as Monica 😉
If you are looking for a sleek, light and powerful laptop that is affordable, the Lenovo Yoga C740 is an easy decision. It has nice design and display. Easy to carry around or pack in your back pack. Great display, loud audio and long battery life – and more importantly, runs fast.
I recommend the Yoga C740 for students looking for a nice laptop, or moms who need a good durable laptop for their kids doing an online class.
