One of the places that we were looking forward to visiting during our 4-day trip to Kuala Lumpur is the RexKL Bookstore by BookXcess.
I traveled with @cebupacificair and Tourism Malaysia, along with other writers and content creators. You can check out our posts #CEBFliesKualaLumpur.

What makes the unique bookstore in Kuala Lumpur interesting? It is an old theater turned into a bookstore.
The location is at the 2nd Floor of REX KL Building, and as you walk up the stairs you would have an idea how the old cinema looks like before the BookXcess takeover.
When I got into the 2nd floor, I was in awe as I turn and discover secret passageways and narrow walkways of shelves and displays of books.

There are floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, and about 80,000 books neatly arranged for you to marvel at. What I love about BookXcess is that they keep the old-fashioned cinema architecture including broken floor tiles, railings, and switches.
I wish we have more time to really check the book titles.
I spotted some cool coffee table books, and children’s books too!
At the third floor is a bar and restaurant (closed during our visit), but you can also check out the cafes at the first floor of the building.
If you are planning to visit Kuala Lumpur, make sure that you include this hip new destination in your itinerary. It would surely rekindle your love for reading books!
