Celebrate Oktoberfest 2014 at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila

September 11, 2014
Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila‘s Harbor Garden Tent served like an authentic beer garden of Bavaria, Germany during the launch of Oktoberfest 2014 yesterday. We got (barrels of) beer, and German food served by ladies in Dimdi and gentlemen in Lederhosen! I could almost feel the beerfest spirit!

Ein Prosit Ein Prosit! Mark the calendar, October 17 and 18! The event would surely make one sing and dance all night long.

What to expect? The world famous original Hofbrauhaus Band and Show from legendary Bofbrauhaus in Munich would join in the fun. It is also the first time that Lissie, internationally acclaimed female yodeler will join yodely-ing with guests. It would surely be a funfair event!

Looks like we know where is the best place to party and experience the beer fest this year! Sofitel will once again host the Oktoberfest (and this is the fourth year!)

“The Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila is the home of Oktoberfest for the next four years! Through the years, we have seen how Oktoberfest has helped promote camaraderie among the Filipinos and Germans and we are extremely pleased to have contributed to this. The German-Filipino community can expect more excitement and thrill at every Oktoberfest at the Sofitel Philippine PlazaAdam Laker, Sofitel Philippine Plaza General Manager.

I personally think that building personal relationship and sharing good food and good drinks build trust and relationships – be it personal or business. Although it is not widely advertised, I am glad to know that the German Club Manila has helped the poor and victims of calamities.

This strong commitment towards Philippines and its people is being upheld and further intensified to this date by the Club’s over 500 members. As in all our events, a considerate part of the proceeds of the Oktoberfest will go to our charity projects” says Per-Andre Hoffman, German Club Manila President.

I would want to wear a dimdi! 🙂

If you think that Oktoberfest is all about beer, the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Master Chefs will be preparing a sumptuous Bavarian spread from fresh roasted pork knuckles, laugen rolls, grilled German sausages and pastries!

It was a rainy morning when we got to Sofitel but the sun suddenly appeared to greet the fun fair. The changing weather didn’t sway the fun vibe of the beer fest! It was awesome to dance to traditional Bavarian Oktoberfest music and German party songs! The kind that I have only learned from my friend in Austria! (hello Sabine! I miss you!).

The launch party continued with fun beer-drinking, yodeler and dance contests! I couldn’t wait for the Oktoberfest 2014! The night of festivities is best enjoyed when you don’t have to worry about driving home and getting to your bed safe. A restful sleep at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila is a good way to end the beer fest (and probably have another food fest in Spiral the following day!)

If you are still clueless what Oktoberfest is, and what it means.. here’s some fun facts about Oktoberfest and Oktoberfest Celebration in Sofitel Philippine Plaza:
