35 Minutes to Paradise: Coron, Palawan via SkyJet Airlines

I never realized that I can go back to the most beautiful island in the world – Palawan, in just 35 minutes flight time. The shortest flight I have ever taken courtesy of SkyJet Airlines.

It was a rainy weekend and I was hesitant to fly – even if it means going back to the most beautiful island I have ever been in the Philippines. After 6 years, I was back to the airport and found myself checking in at the NAIA Terminal 4 to an afternoon flight enroute to Busuanga.

When I arrived in the airport, I caught Ana and Paul catching Pokemons. We decided to check in early and wait for the Blog Squad inside. It was a smooth check in process. We just presented our valid IDs and ticket.

It was my first time to pack in luggage during an island/beach trip (and it was a good decision). SkyJet Airlines allows up to 10 kilos of checked-in luggage and up to 7 kilos hand carried bag.
Due to the bad weather, the flights got delayed (it was a domino effect and we cannot blame just 1 airline).  When it was finally time to board, I was surprised with how small the aircraft is.

Sky Jet Airlines is the first boutique airline in the Philippines. SkyJet was founded in 2005 and officially began commercial operations in December 2012. The airline flies from Manila to three exotic local destinations: Batanes, Palawan, and Boracay.
En route to Palawan, we got seated in front which gave me enough legroom (#tallwomanproblem). On our way back to Manila, we got seated at row 4, and I noticed that the legroom is much more spacious compared to other airlines.

En route to Manila: seated at row 4 – I love the extra legroom
The staff and cabin crew (including the pilots) are really nice and have a sense of urgency to attend to the passenger’s needs.

I love that even if we were only flying for less than an hour, we were served with snacks – Fudgee Bar and Water. I know that it is included in the airfare, but these small things make a good deal especially when other budget airlines are no longer offering free in-flight meals or snacks.

We experienced turbulence during the flight (as expected because of heavy rains) but captain is always quick at reminding the passengers of the situation (which makes me more confident about the flight).

I have been flying for years and I have experienced different kinds of turbulence (and some would even last for minutes – as if you were driving in a rough road). There’s always something comforting about hearing the pilot’s announcements and reminders.
We were assisted and provided with umbrella during off-boarding.

We landed safely in Busuanga – safe and sound (and excited to explore the paradidse!)
My SkyJet Airlines experience to Coron is one of the fastest and safest I have ever taken. Thank you!!!

… to be continued.

I cannot wait to explore the other destinations. I heard that Sky Jet Airlines also offers Piso Fares. Check out https://www.flyskyjetair.com/ for more information. Follow https://www.facebook.com/skyjetair/ and @skyjetairlines on Instagram.
